Blizzard has revealed the schedule for BlizzCon 2010, and before you ask, no, there is no “Diablo III Release Date Announcement” panel planned. Then again, Blizzard has said that this year’s con will be the biggest yet in terms of Diablo III news, so I guess anything is possible.
BlizzCon 2010 will be held October 22 and 23, and both days are jam-packed with panels, tournaments, and discussions that will do doubt have StarCraft, World of Warcraft, and Diablo fans in a constant haze of nerd joy. You can find the full schedule at Blizzard's website.
Since Diablo III will be such a big focus of this year’s convention, you’ll definitely want to keep your eye on the opening ceremony, the Diablo III gameplay session right after the opening ceremony, the Diablo III: Crafting Sanctuary panel on the development stage at 10:30 am PST on Oct. 23, and the Q&A on the main stage at 3pm PST on that Saturday as well.
If you won’t be in attendance at this year’s BlizzCon, but you don’t want to miss out on any of the action, then you can purchase a virtual ticket for $40 that will grant you access to over 50 hours of live coverage from the event, including panels, tournaments, interviews, and more.
The two big announcements expected from the con are the Diablo III release date and the reveal of the game’s final class. Should BlizzCon come and go without either being revealed, BlizzCon will surely become ground zero for a surefire geek-pocalypse. Do the right thing, Blizzard.
Who here is going to BlizzCon 2010? Anyone considering doing the virtual ticket thing?
Should the need arise, feel free to E-Mail me your tips, suggestions, and/or personal philosophies, or follow me on Twitter.

OK people gather round and place your bets! What will Blizzard reveal that they claim will be Diablo III - related and "the biggest news yet"?
Here are your options:
1.) Blizz will reveal 1 or 2 Diablo III expansions.
2.) Diablo III will be cheap/free to download, but cost a fee to play monthly.
3.) Diablo III will be cheap/free to download, but will cost a low hourly fee.
4.) Diablo MMO in the works.
5.) # insert prediction here #

I agree, Diablo 3's release date probably won't be announced at Blizzcon.
I think the biggest thing people are expecting (myself included) is the announcement of Blizz's new MMO. Probably nothing big like a trailer, but at least a name and general info.
As big of a Diablo fan as I am, I'm dying to find out what they're hiding up their sleeve.

Since i live on the east coast i will be getting the virtual ticket for the second year in a row. It's a great value 40 dollars is cheaper than getting tickets, lodging, food, airfare. So come later this month i'll be listening to panels while i'm playing minecraft in my long johns cos its freaking cold here.

Jake, you should know Blizzard won't reveal the release date for Diablo 3 at BlizzCon. They didn't for StarCraft 2 at last years blizzCon so don't expect them to do it this year. We'll hear the release date about 2-3 months before the actual release, and seeing how its not coming out this year (as so it doesn't fight with WoW for sales) its pretty obvious what won't be announced at BlizzCon.
I'll be watching the online feed, just because I feel $40 is worth not having to wait for someone with a good heart to actually upload all the footage to youtube and then hope parts of it aren't cut out.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! It almost makes me regret going last year so I could of had enough money to try to go this year, but THAT'S ok. It was amazing and now I will get to veg out in front of the TV watching all the Diablo news there is. Blizzard needs to take your advice and give out a release date.

No. Most people just dress in costumes that represent their real character! Since last year had major emphasis on Wrath of the Lich King and his icy throne, many people watched all of Blizzcon in their bathtubs full of ice water. If you are not that dedicated, dont bother with the 40 bucks.

$40 bucks?! Are they going to mail me some popcorn and a nice bath robe to watch it in?
