Guillermo del Toro Developing Games

Guillermo del Toro is an awesome director. His credits include Hell Boy, The Orphanage, Pan's Labyrinth, and soon, a major video game with THQ. According to del Toro, games are Art.

“Videogames are the comic books of our time. It’s a medium that gains no respect among the intelligentsia. They say ‘oh, video games.’ And most people that complain about video games have never f*cking played them,” del Toro said at a book reading in Portland, Oregon.

“They are an art form and anyone saying differently is a little out of touch because they are a narrative art form.”.

We have no details on what kind of game del Toro is making, but he obviously understands the genre. According to VG247, del Toro's favorite games include Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Marathon, and Halo, so the guy knows what he's talking about. I, for one, can't wait to learn more about what del Toro plans for the game space. I think it will change the game-game, so to speak.

According to del Toro, we'll hear more about his game in the coming weeks. Any other fans out there dying to see what this amazing director has cooking?
