2K announced today that every copy of the upcoming Borderlands Game of the Year edition will include a certificate for the Duke Nukem Forever First Access Club, which will net members access to exclusive content, but most importantly, early access to the Duke Nukem Forever demo when it becomes available sometime before the game’s release in 2011.
It isn’t clear how much of a head start First Access club members will have with the demo, or what the demo will contain, but that’s understandable given that the game is still a year from release. But if I had to guess, I’d say members will get a week of exclusive access, and the demo will be the same one Gearbox used when the game was officially unveiled during PAX Prime 2010 a few weeks back.
The Borderlands GOTY edition goes on sale October 12, and includes all four of the game’s DLC packs and a Borderlands territory map, all for $59.99 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and $49.99 on PC.
Should the need arise, feel free to E-Mail me your tips, suggestions, and/or personal philosophies, or follow me on Twitter.

Sorry, I'm not paying $60 to get early access to a demo. I already managed to get the entire Borderlands game, including DLC's, for less than the GOTY edition's price anyway. As for the Duke Nukem demo, I'll get it when it goes out to the general public.

Even more reasons to not buy games on day one. I always wait for a drop, sale, bonus offer, or GOTY version.

Are you kidding me? No company has ever done this and most likely never will. You dont see microsoft giving me $100 back because i bought my elite when it was $400 then they dropped it a week later. Stop complaining. Trade the game in and get The GOTY version if you wanna play the DNF demo that bad.

Tuff Crap. This is to get new gamers to purchase the game. Stop crying about it and man up.
And you don't deserve anything. Its like saying borderlands 2 is out and since you bought the 1st and liked it so much u should get the sequel free or at a discount. NO! you don't deserve anything except a smack in the face, not a punch since you are acting like a little girl
Just keep your crying to yourself

Wow I have to admit people are going to get screwed, lucky for me I didn't buy borderland I just borrowed it since I had a feeling they might pull something like this like they did with street fighter 4 they got rid of the gay japanese boy band added some good characters and the people who bought the original now have to buy the super street fighter just to catch up and they get nothing in return what do I say about all this...Dear game makers quit screwing your fans over! Thank you
WhiteSurprise
Yes, Give the demo to the kids who haven't played the game until OCTOBER 12 after its been out for so long, while the loyalists who bought the DLC the very day they come out get screwed over. -.-

These days, you wait a year and you get EVERYTHING for the original price or sometimes even less. I played Borderlands when it first came out and thought about buying it a few months ago, but knew this was coming so I waited. Same with Dragon Age. I'm getting both when they come out and they're both great deals. As far as the DNF demo goes, I see everyone's point but in the end businesses and corporations only look out for themselves. It;s one last cash grab before they move on to their next game. $$$$$

Ugh, I want this demo so badly. But I happened to be one of the many loyal Borderlands fans that bought all the DLC and still has the game, and I'm still screwed in the end? That's just great...

Was this Duke game even fun I know it was at PAX in seattle but I haven't heard if what they played there was good or bad.

This really sucks like so many other gamers, I actually had Borderlands since its release and purchased all of the DLC!! Which means we've actually spent more money on Borderlands, but we're not even entitled to play the demo?? With 4 DLC, all of which costing me 1200 ms points, I've spent way too much money on this game to not even be considered for access to the demo!! Great way to show what loyalty can get ya!! This is one of the many reason why no matter how awesome the DLC can be, the entire idea of it is stupid. Especially if the game developer is releasing the game with all of the content in it. Which is cheaper then if someone bought it as each new contet is released.
Now of course, the early access card is probably going to be access to the demo maybe a week or two before everyone else get to play the demo. But that still doesn't change the fact that this is just another ploy to rake in more money, and milk a game for every single penny they can. Just offer up a demo to a game that everyone is waiting on, but make them buy a game that has been out for over a year. Great job 2K!!
BTW- Duke Nukem Forever was a demo at PAX West in Seattle a few weeks ago. Not PAX East in Boston back in April.

Unless we "loyal" fans of Boderlands who've bought the game on launch day, bought every DLC, faithfully played the multiplayer even today, then DNF will have a lot of angry fans. Personally i love Duke and have been looking forward to DNF since i beat the last one. But with no kind of compensation for those of us who have shelled out the extra money to support Borderlands and its developers, thats just plain bullsh##
krismagus
Man, that really pisses me off. The people who were so loyal to gearbox and bought every DLC get squat, while the people who waited to buy it for a year get praised? That is just so backwards.
BONERJAM
There is no way this game can ever live up to the "hype". It has been in development for as long as I can remember. IMO if this game doesn't reinvent the FPS considerably it will be a disapointment.
