Upcoming game Goldeneye 007's newly announced mode is enough to make me dust off my Wii. Classic Conflict will feature eight classic Bond villains going at it in multiplayer combat: Jaws, Oddjob, Baron Samedi, Dr. No, Scaramanga, Red Grant, Rosa Klebb and Blofeld will all be playable, so up to eight classic baddies can square off at once! Gamers who purchase the GoldenEye 007 Classic Edition bundle (the one with the gold colored classic controller) will be able to unlock this mode immediately. Everyone else will have to unlock the mode once they reach level 35 in online multiplayer.
I'm not sure about the idea of paying for acess to a mode in multiplayer, but I also doubt true fans will have any problem playing enough to reach level 35. Is this a win-win? Or just another gaming annoyance?

The Wii and I have a relationship like a cold marriage. We tolerate eachother for the kid's sake and every once in the while we touch eachother. This game will have me touching my Wii.

I don't know. They may want the Wii to have colorful...ness, like the Gamecube had. So I honestly can't complain about the controller's gold.....ness.

I was thinking about picking up the classic controller pro with the Monster Hunter Tri bundle for only $50. Thats way better than paying $70 for this. Plus I think jet black looks much better than that gold one pictured above.
That controller looks much more comfortable than the older models [but the older models work great as an SNES controller]
That, plus Goldeneye would play great on the Gamecube controller.

The Wii classic controller PRO is easily the most comfortably controller on the market.
its super light.. as well made as a a DS and has nice layout and is all Digital buttons.. vs the PS3 and 360 which has some annoying analog triggers which are not good for action games!

I don't think true fans of the game would really care about reaching level 35 to unlock the classic characters. In fact I wish more games would include the ability to unlock new characters and game modes depending on what level they reach in multiplayer. It actually gives you something other than bragging rights. My only hope is that gamers aren't too dissapointed when they play the new Goldeneye and realize that it don't exactly live up to the classic N64 game. With all of the FPS games we've grown to love since the release of the first goldeneye. I doubt if it can hold the same type of originality that it did back during the days of the 64. We loved that game because it was one of the first where we had local 4 player mode, which was really the early gamers first taste of online console gaming. It's been years since then, so I'm a little skeptical to see if Goldeneye will have the same allure or fanfare that it did all those years ago.
BTW-JustTheBeginning is right the new golden controller looks horrible. It looks like an improved Gamecube controller.
