Hollywood has optioned the film rights to open-world video game Just Cause. According to move-biz Bible Variety, Eric Eisner's L+E Productions owns the rights to the Just Cause movie script written by Michael Ross. Producer Adrian Askarieh is on board as well.
The movie will be (presumably) a huge action movie that tells the story of Rico "The Scorpion" Rodriguez as he takes on "deadly missions for the US government that come in the form of creating chaos and destrabalizing rogue nations from within and turning the bad guys against each other."
What do you guys think? Is a Just Cause movie a good idea? Is an action sequence involving a grappling-hook parachute enough to anchor an entire film?
