It’s been six months since Avalanche Studios unleashed the open-world action extravaganza that is Just Cause 2. And in that time, players have hit a number of staggering milestones. Like one guy who has clocked in 1,100 hours of game time (that’s 45 days of continuous play!), or the fact that players have driven the equivalent of traveling from the Earth to Mars three times. How do I know this? A handy little infograph just landed in my inbox that details a slew of these kinds of gameplay achievements. Get your "Whoa!" hats on, and check out these stats:
Game Time:
- In the six months since release, players of Just Cause 2 have racked up a total game time of 26,118,470 hours. This is equal to around 1.1 million days of play time…Just a little under 3,000 years!
- Over 15,500 player have clock in over 50 hours playing the game with one player spending 1,100 hours, or 45 days, on Panau Island.
Base Jump Facts and Figures:
- 570,329,383 meters – The combined height of each player’s highest base jump is roughly 14 times the circumference of the Earth, or the equivalent of freefalling from the moon one and a half times.
- 6,800m – The highest possible base jump in the game is not from land, but from one of the many Easter Eggs…the hot air balloon. It can be flown up to the limit of the game world for a truly record-breaking freefall. Only 160 players have accomplished this feat.
- 1,500m – The highest point on land is not the location for the game’s longest land-based freefall. A mountain near Kampung Enor Bengkok in Panau’s desert has a steeper incline
- 380m – The average highest base jump across all players is roughly equal to a leap off the top of the Empire State Building.
Player Death:
- 49% - Explosion
- 32% - Bullet
- 16% - Impact
- 2% - Drowning
- 1% - Other
Total Kilometers Driven:
- Players have driven an incredible distance across the Panauan landscape with one player clocking in over 65,000km.
- 173,505,190km – Distance driven by all players in six months. Equivalent to:
- 4,338 times the circumference of the Earth
- 452 times the distance from the Earth to the moon
- Three times the distance from the Earth to Mars
Weapons of Choice:
- 28% - Sub machine gun
- 25% - Assault rifle
- 19% - Pistol
- 12% - Sawed-off shotgun
- 10% - Machine gun
- 6% - Sniper rifle
Parachute Climbing:
- 85% - Players that use this mode of transport
- 2,752m – The farthest recorded slingshot climb of all players
- 288,006,325m – Players have climbed a distance equivalent to over 32,500 times the height of Mount Everest.
Scorpions Killed:
- 403,783 – Total scorpions killed by all players
- 150 – The most killed by one player
- 83% - Players who have never killed one
Specialty Kills (Ranked by most popular):
- Headshots
- Melee kills
- Fall kills
- Juggle kills
- Piñata kills
- Wrecking ball
Military Kills:
- In total, over 1.5 billion soldiers have been killed, roughly equivalent to one quarter of the popular of the Earth. Broken down as:
- 60% - Grunts
- 37% - Elites
- 1% - Demolition officers
- 1% - Ninjas
- 1% - Colonels
- Taking down the game’s 50 colonels has proved no mean feat, with only 16,741 players accomplishing the task.
Vehicles Hijacked (Ranked by most popular):
- Cars
- Motorcycles
- Helicopters
- Boats
- Planes
Causing Chaos:
- Players have caused well over 1 billion explosions across the island, including some serious damage to Baby Panay’s pride:
- 9.9 million – Total propaganda vans destroyed. 1% of players have taken out all 100.
- 13 million – The number of statues of the beloved leader destroyed. However less than 1% of players have managed to destroy all 90.
Crazy, no?

Last game I haven`t played that scored at least a 9 on game informer for 2010 . RUSE will take some time and I need my Zombie Head shot fix. If Fallout 3 don`t come, then I suppose RE5 will suffice granted I don`t strangle Sheva first for using up valuable ammo. Just Cause looks like a fun ride that borders on Uncharted territory (get it, Uncharted) Parachutes, explosions, ridin on cars shootin baddies looks just like what the doctor ordered. RTS has my name on it now though. Ya can`t go to college, might as well get the next best thing to it in my opinion.

Just Cause 2 was just a flat out fun game. It is the epitome of a game, really. You don't care about story or characters, you just play around in this huge, gorgeous open world and cause hell. I had a blast with it. I can not wait for the next one.

I should go play this some more...

i got so in to this game for awhile i had found almost all the hidden packages and did most of the missions but at one point i loaded my saved game not my auto-saved game and i losted pretty much everything. Man was i pissed! i tried everything to load my almosted finished game but soon after loading the regular saved game it auto saved me right of the bat hours of playing down the drain. Got to keep the trouphies that i have earned but who really cares about those i never got to play the last mission because i was saving it til i did everything else. i never could bring my self back to playing this game again. AUTO-SAVE SUCKS!!!!!!!!!

Its kind of one of those "hooray I got the game" and then you play it. its not the best but we'll have to wait fo just cause 3.
WaRrWicK

Bring on Just Cause 3, this game is the most under rated game ever, and will never leave my game library. I wish that more games would step up and be a game like this one. I can swim under water, the only thing I have wanted from the Grand theft Auto series since San Andreas, I can explore all day long and still find new aereas ever time I play, with so many goodies scattered around and so many vehicles, this will be game of the decade in my books.
darkvoid
Its also a lot of fun to mod the hell out of the game :D
Gamelife1
just got just cause 2 from gamefly today, this got me pumped to play it.
JustTheBeginning
Pretty cool, I helped!
But ermmm, what is this scorpion thing!? I must be in the 83% that never killed one :P

Those are some pretty incredible stats. I wonder if they have some kind of statistician that works for video game companies to analyze such data. Sounds like a fun job imo.
@Arm3g3don Your logic is slightly off. You are assuming a 24 hour period for the user base which is inhuman. Even the guy who played 1,100 hours only clocked in ~4 hours a day (assuming everyday). There are too many rough estimates to really draw any concrete conclusions such as the one I just posted, but "game time" and other stats are really helpful to those that can discern them. (IMO)
Arm3g3don
the "game time" stats is pointless. 6 months is 4,320 hours, give or take a few hours. So that 24 million hours is just 4,320 times how ever many people bought the game and play online. Am I right?
