Here's a pitch from left field: Hollywood is making a Myst movie. Specifically, Roserock Films and Gran Via Productions are teaming up with Adrian Vanderbosch and Isacc Testerman to create a movie based on the evocative adventure/puzzle game from the early 1990s.
As the game didn't really have a plot per se, the movie will be based on some of the supplementary novels that came after Myst became a surprise hit."Our aim with this project is to stretch the genres it operates within, much like the source material did," Vanderbosch said. "It is such an innovative property and the best service we can do to it is to maintain that spirit. By utilizing the novels as our primary source, we have the opportunity to offer audiences the essence of Myst without being limited only to the famous island of the first game."
No word yet on a director, stars, a release date or any other solid info, so we'll stick this story in our "Things to watch for" file, and let you know when there's an update.
