I'm going to name two games that I like that I bet you either haven't heard of or have dismissed. One is old, the other new. Ready?

  • Asylum for the TRS-80. This game came out in 1981 and is nearly totally forgotten. Made for a computer that was not meant as a gaming machine even back in early 80s, Asylum managed to created huge 3D world and a compelling adventure using only 16K of memory. It was a groundbreaking title, well ahead of its time, but apparently less than 1000 Asylum discs were ever produced.  More info here.
  • Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. I'm not sure why I randomly picked up this movie tie-in game to a flick I haven't seen, (OK, it was because I figured it would be easy achievements) but I was shocked by how good-natured and enjoyable the game turned out to be. Not going to change your life, but could easily brighten an evening.

Okay, now it's your turn. Go!
