Can’t wait until January to start tearing your friends apart in Necromorph frenzy? Good news. You might not have to, as Visceral Games has started sending out invites to PlayStation 3 owners for the closed multiplayer beta for its much anticipated action-horror sequel Dead Space 2.
As Kotaku reports, the invites are finding their way into the inboxes of “dedicated fans,” who are now able to download and jump into the beta. At least, that is according to a number of invitees how have voiced their thanks to the Dead Space team via Twitter.
Dead Space 2 multiplayer puts players in control of either horrifying Necromorphs or a human security force, as each try to rid the Sprawl of one another in a terrifying and intense fight for survival. Check out our recent multiplayer preview for more details.
Anyone out there receive an invite yet? Assuming you’ve been able to play it, how are you finding the multiplayer so far?

meh.....its average. Maybe when/if more maps get unlocked it might get abit better. Dont see too many people plying it though on release. There are far too many better tps out there. Cant wait for the SP though, def one of my must haves for 2011

The game is smooth and fun as hell. Kind of disappointed with the match making system, but most games are going that route these days.

I played a few rounds today. So far it def shows alot of promise. Necromorph control is awkward at times especially wall climbing as a lurker. But that class is so much fun to play as. But I enjoyed it for sure and will be playing alot more during the beta.

I got an invite for the beta this morning and spent a couple of hours with it. For anyone that has doubts about it, their fears can be put to rest. It's fun, runs smooth, and the leveling up system works (unlocking guns). It is definitely going to get a lot of comparisons to Left 4 Dead [Space] but you sorta have to expect that but if you are a fan of L4D (which I am) then you'll enjoy this.

got my invite last night. had a chance to play for a few hours and its pretty good..needs tweeks but that the point of the beta..being able 2 play as the necromorphs is cool..I think if u have been a member of the homepage for a period of time is how they do the invites

Even though I own an xbox I'm kind of glad it's ps3 exclusive xbox always gets the awesome pregame stuff. Time for a change.

Got the invite last night and installed the beta. Hoping to get some time tonight to play it. Not sure but I think I registered that game on EA's site. That may be where they are pulling the data for the invite.
