Alan Wake

Alan Wake fans: It's time to be sad. So very, very sad. According to Matias Myllyrinne, CEO of Remedy, The next piece of DLC for the game, The Writer, will be the last.

We don't have a release date on the DLC, or too many details, but Myllyrinne promises it will wrap up the Wake story and feature "intense action." One other piece of info: The DLC will feature the song "The Darkest Star" by 1980s techno band Depeche Mode.

Alan Wake was one of my favorite games of the last year: I'm a horror junkie, so Wake was like pure heroin. I can only hope a sequel is coming. My fingers are crossed, but my generally pessimistic nature leans toward not much chance. We shall see, I suppose. Did you guys play Alan Wake? What did you think?

I enjoyed the game but heard the DLC "The Signal" was uninspiring and didn't offer anything to the story.

well they already said that they are in fact working on a sequel, season 2, hopefully its longer so it actually feels like a tv show and its actually worth it to have the whole "last time on alan wake" schtick.

I bought and played Alan Wake, I enjoyed it. The story is very hard to follow but it did the job.

Playing it now. I waited for a price drop because to be honest I didn't think I would like it but when getting a few games I figured what the hell. I was so wrong, I love this game. 5 episodes in and can't wait to see what happens. I only play it at night, makes it better. Now to the dlc part, If it wraps up a story I'll get it, its just a little upsetting though because after many years you would think they would at least give us a full game with story ending out of the box instead of charging more for us to see how it ends. But at least now when I finish the game I won't be upset at a cliffhanger because now I know the ending will come.

It's not the end.when developeres deside that they sucked maximum money from console auditory, they 'll port on PC

I loved Alan Wake and cannot wait for the 2nd DLC to drop. I am sad to know that this will be the final piece of DLC for this game since the devs stated that only 2 DLC's were planned (The Signal & The Writer) but more will be made depending on the sales of the game & the 2 DLC's themselves.

I really hope this is not the end of Wake itself. I would love a sequel aka second season.

I think Alan Wake was a little to consistent but overall an amazing game. Unfortunately, I think that the sells didn't go to well so I don't think their will be a sequel.

Alan Wake was the classic example of a number of good ideas getting lost in over-ambitious and overly-long development. I'd like to see a sequel, but with the incredibly disappointing sales of the first title, I'm not so sure we'll see it anytime soon.

I was hoping for more, but I'd gladly take a sequel. I haven't played Heavy Rain yet because I still haven't bought a PS3, so from my vantage point Alan Wake has one of the best cinematic packages (read: narratives) I've ever seen in a game, if not the best.

Really liked this game. Will wait for all DLC to be out and will replay it in full (prob on easy, I mean I get it, flashlight, gunshot) cuz the story was great.

The wait for the game paid off. I think the sales of the game would warrant a sequel; I can hope for it. Even though this is the last DLC; other than shooters, how many games get more than two pieces. Many lessons can be learned from "Alan Wake". I hope one of them is, a sequel would be welcomed.

Amazing both Heavy Rain and this title both said HEY LOTS OF DLC and both companies have failed to deliver that promise. I am starting to think DLC is a scam to say HEY BUY THIS GAME and in the future we will complete it.

Guess what.. IT IS A SCAM.. Even Mafia 2 is extremely short and all they are doing is DLC which should have been part of the game

I haven't beaten Alan Wake yet, but I am planning on doing so this upcoming weekend (along with the DLC). While I am sad that this will be the last chapter of the game (unless there's a sequel), I'm glad that they're going to tie up all of the plot points. I think the game itself is fantastic, but even now that I'm almost done with the original game, it's still a bit confusing. Maybe things will be better explained once I'm done.
