Ubisoft has revealed more details about the Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood multiplayer beta that begins on October 4 exclusively for PlayStation 3 owners who pre-order the game before September 25. Sadly, one of those details isn’t that the beta will be available to everyone, but so it goes.
It was previously announced that the beta would include nine characters to choose from, two modes, and support for up to eight players. But now we know what players can expect when they jump into the Wanted and Alliance modes:
Wanted - Adversarial mode: From six to eight players
- Objective: Obtain the highest possible score by killing assigned targets.
- Game session: 1 round of 10 minutes
- In this game mode, players have 10 minutes to reach the higher score by assassinating other players. A target is assigned by the system and players can only kill that specific target. Interaction with the other players is not permitted unless they are either a target or a pursuer. If players kill innocents they will trigger an “open conflict”. The position of the player will be revealed to their target and then will have the ability to escape or to cancel the contract. If the target has identified one of his pursuers, he can stun him to cancel the contract and score points.
Alliance - Cooperative mode: Three teams of two players
- Objective: Obtain the highest possible score with your teammate by killing the assigned team. The teammates share the same character.
- Game session: 2 rounds of 4 minutes
- At the beginning of the round, a target team is assigned to each of the three teams. Those targets will not change for the entire round. During the round, players can switch between their two targets at anytime. Players will score by killing targets or escaping or stunning pursuers, but in addition, are rewarded by helping their teammate or performing cooperative actions like multiple kills in a row. At the end of the first round, all players will respawn and a new target is assigned to each team. The game session ends at the end of the second round.
The modes will be playable across two maps (Rome and Castle Gandolfo), but the community will be able to unlock a third map, Siena, as well.

I have to admit that as an Xbox 360 owner who is far too poor for the newest games, let alone a new console as expensive as the PS3 is, I have to chalk this one up to Sony for their brilliant marketing skills. Not only is Ubisoft attached to Sony via umbilical cord, but they have the Frag Dolls to promote the games at cons. So they've got game, but they're still glorified Booth Babes, anyway.
So, I'm shaking my fists at the Gaming Gods for all of this "console exclusive" crap. Whether it's PS3 or Xbox exclusive, it's really getting old. As gamers, I'm sure we'll buy the bloody console on its merits and what games we'd like to play. Maybe we'll move past that in the next gen of consoles and the fanboys will die out. We can only hope.
Way to go, PS3 owners. Enjoy the beta.

just buy both consoles idiot. "but i can't spend that money" whaaa. don't bitch then if you made the choice of not going the distance on the convenience fee of having both, and then call yourself an ultimate gamer! the real ultimate gamers have both efin consoles and could care less what's exclusive or not. and really, if you're going to go with xbox only, that's a bad choice. halo is only really fun when you play it with people at other houses. get the chips out. real gamers know the joys of what LAN can bring. or 4 people at a house online. campaign is only fun once. splinter cell is sweet. but MGS and FF and GT and AC is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY better. even Uncharted2

and not for nothing U xbox fanboys got splintercell conviction. A game I myself would of loved to see on the Ps3 but hell Master of Weed I guess the ppl that cant play Splintercell will just have to cry while Playing ACB beta!

Will you people grow up. You act like the 360 has never gotten exclusive content or content early. MW2 for example, 360 got their map packs a month early. There's a huge list (i just really cant remember any of it xD) of stuff that the 360 gets over the Ps3 ALL THE TIME. So quit complaining about not getting a beta and quit gloating about "the better console". All 360 players want some Ps3 games and all Ps3 owners want some 360 games and 360 is only "better" (Notice my quotes) because it came out a year earlier. Both consoles have their ups and downs and yall just need to grow up, quit fighting, play what you want, and shut it. Now, ACB beta doesnt even seem all the fun (But neither did the first 2 AC's and i love them :3) so why even complain. You'll probably get the beta after Ps3 owners anyway

And as for the xbots, you need to relax. Microsoft has paid off game developers many times to screw over ps3 owners. For example Fallout 3 dlc. So god forbid for once ps3 owners gets the exclusive beta or content first.

Ubisoft: Hey how can we piss the 360 players off, I know lets make the beta PS3 exclusive even know the 360 has much better online connectivity and a lot more people, Why do they do these things if you're going to put the beta on only 1 console it shouldn't be a beta for a multi platform game that is more appropriate for exclusive titles, It blows my mind that it is PS3 exclusive and only pre orders can play it that means at the most there will only be around 1k or MAYBE even 2k beta testers, If they wanted that little people to test it than they should have tested it themselves I bet Ubisoft has more people than the amount who will play this beta.
