Cheats and Walkthroughs

Microsoft Game Studios vice-president Phil Spencer asked the crowd at his Tokyo Game Show keynote today to forgive him while he, well, gloated a little bit. According to Spencer, Halo: Reach had generated $200 million in sales after just one day on store shelves. The game also surpassed Halo 3’s record for most simultaneous Xbox Live users online at one time.
Some other nuggets from Spencer’s presentation:
- The Xbox 360 has been the top-selling console in North America for three months running. It is also supposedly the No. 1 console in Europe, although Spencer offered no numbers to back up that claim. (He says it is based on Microsoft’s “sell-through data.”)
- Five of the top six best-selling games in Xbox Live Arcade history were made by Japanese developers. They are, in no particular order, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Street Fighter 2, Super Street Fighter 2 HD Turbo Remix, Bomberman Live, and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. So apparently, XBLA customers like to buy games they’ve already played on other consoles.
- Japanese games for the Xbox 360 have accounted for $2.1 billion in sales to date (conversion rate: 10.5 Halo: Reach launch days). That’s more than double the $1 billion in Japanese games sold over the lifespan of the original Xbox.

Whats with the information on Japanese games? Seems random for the article.

I don't know about you guys but I could care less for exclusives, I'm into playing games for the games. I support them all alike, except the wii. It really just doesn't strike my fancy It would be so much better if there weren't exclusives so we could all enjoy the same games together without having "console" wars. Games in general for the WIN.

I'm happy for them. Even though Bungie doesn't see the money as much as Microsoft does. Bungie see's a penny next to the amount Microsoft does, sadly.
but again, whats a large part of why people make games? money! duh! yes, halo is s system seller ( why i got a xbox for halo & a 360 for halo 3 ). but it appeals to the hardcore mass like me and many others.

MWF 2 sold 310 million dollars in one day but that was across multiple platforms. and idk about GOW3 but it still sold pretty well overall.

It was guaranteed to sell so well. Halo appeals to all casual and hardcore gamers alike. When you can persuade the casual gamers to purchase your product then you will get more sales than the titiles that have smaller, more hardcore followings.

They don't mention how much bungie gets for all of their hard work, And sure those arcade games sold a lot but none of them can top Castle Crashers sales which is a game made by the good people of Newgrounds with Flash of all programs.
