Rockstar Games has revealed that it plans to release the “long awaited” Grand Theft Auto Trilogy, which includes GTA III, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas, for Mac later this year.
The announcement came during a “Asked & Answered” session posted on Rockstar’s official blog. It’s definitely been a long time coming for Mac gamers. The trilogy came out back in 2006 for PlayStation 2 and the original Xbox, and released for PC last June.
Rockstar promises more details soon (like whether the Mac trilogy will include upgraded graphics perhaps?), so stay tuned.
So Mac gamers? Think you’ll be giving these classic titles another go around, mouse and keyboard style?

I think this is cool. It will be interesting to find out how the games work on the Mac as opposed to the PC.

Do mac users even know how to play games?

Silly mac, games are for PC's!

If anyone waited 9 years to play GTA 3 on the mac, they have forever earned the right to call themselves a die hard mac fan.

Say what you want but Macs can play games just fine. I might actually pick up San Andreas as it's - in my opinion - one of the best GTA games in the series.

If you don't own a Mac, move along. Arguing about tech is elementary. PC gaming is hurting right now. Adding Mac support is good for the longevity of the PC market. Just like having multiple consoles to choose from is a positive. The day we don't get to choose between Mac or PC, Xbox or PS is a bad day for gaming. One choice is NOT a choice. I have nothing but respect for all gaming platforms. I am a gamer, not an elitist.

No.

OH WOW REALLY? You mean games no one plays anymore because the graphics are so out dated. This is exactly what I think of when I think Mac.. outdated....

Holy crap finally! Thank you thank you! I'll be first in line.

There are only three games I ever played on my Mac over the years... Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy and COD2. The rest of my gaming is counsel based.
My Macs are predominately for creative work and interweb use.

I just don't see how this is a good idea. I'm sure that if anyone really wanted to play gta, they would have gotten a console by now if they didn't have a pc. Plus macs can run windows now so I don't really see the point in developing for osx

This makes me so happy.

I knew they were doing something with these games because they put up an archive of all the radio ads from all 5 renderware GTA games, but I expected it to be a HD PS3 compilation like the God of War or Sly Cooper ones. As a PS3/Mac gamer I am kind of disappointed yet kind of glad I'm still serviced (as long as these games work on my 3 year old macbook pro)

As long as I can use the Back to the Future mod for Vice City, I'm in.

I'm sure both mac Gamers are stoked.
