Gamers who fancy themselves virtual rock gods/disc jockey saviors will definitely want to try out the demos for Activision’s upcoming music titles, Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock and DJ Hero 2, both of which are now available for download on Xbox Live.
The DJ Hero 2 demo includes the following four tracks in which to test out the game’s new freestyle scratch, sample, and crossfade features:
- Pussycat Dolls Featuring Busta Rhymes - “Don’t Cha” Mixed With Pitbull “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)”
- Lady Gaga Featuring Colby O’Donis - “Just Dance” Mixed With Deadmau5 “Ghosts N Stuff”
- MSTRKRFT Featuring N.O.R.E. - “Bounce” (Battle Mix)
- Estelle Featuring Kanye West - “American Boy” Mixed With Chic “Good Times”
If two turntables and a microphone aren’t your thing, then pick up your plastic axe, and check out these four tracks for Warriors of Rock:
- Black Sabbath - “Children of the Grave”
- Foo Fighters - “No Way Back”
- Slash featuring Ian Astbury - “Ghosts”
- Dethklok - “Bloodlines”
I haven’t had a chance to try out Warriors of Rock yet, but I did play DJ Hero 2 at Gamescom, and liked it quite a bit. Have you checked out either demo yet? What do you think?
Should the need arise, feel free to E-Mail me your tips, suggestions, and/or personal philosophies, or follow me on Twitter.

Played the Warriors of Rock demo. Gene narrating made it feel a bit cheesy. But i felt something that i havent felt since the original guitar hero, and thats Excitement. I was legitimately excited when i completed a song, i was headbanging, singing along with the songs. Then when i unlocked johnnys rock god form and played bloodlines it felt good, like i just experienced something that i shouldnt have experienced in a music game, but rather an RPG, or an FPS. To me this is just what the doctor ordered, i was on the fence before, but now im definitely getting this.

I actually enjoyed the demo. but i find it really retarded that you have to be a gold member to download it and it isn't up for PS3.

Sadness.... DJ Hero demo isn't up yet.

just played the warriors of rock demo and i wasnt very impressed. the song choices were a little random and from what i played just seemed extremely over the top story wise....a robot beating a demi god....ok....

Are these demos 360 only? If so, profound sadness...

Black Sabbath - Children of the Grave is the only song in the set list that I liked, now I can get it for free in the Demo. SWEET!

Ugh the Foo Fighters? I'm not sure if i'll be getting this GH demo they usually at least have 1 or 2 good songs on them like Metallica and Van Halen did but these songs seem kind of obscure and random they should have put Psychosocial or Bat Country in the demo then everyone would want the game.
