Do you love hip hop? Do you love Rock Band? Then chances are, you haven’t been particularly pleased with the lack of hip hop tracks in MTV Games and Harmonix’s mega hit music title. Well, today that changes, as legendary rapper Snoop Dogg is poised to become the first hip hop artist to appear in Rock Band, thanks to the newly announced eight-song track pack coming September 7.
The eight tracks have been reworked specifically for their appearances in Rock Band, and span a variety of Snoop’s albums. Here’s the list:
- “Beautiful” (Paid tha Cost to Be da Bo$$)
- “Drop It Like It’s Hot” (R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece)
- “Ridin’ In My Chevy”(Ego Trippin’)
- “Sensual Seduction” (Ego Trippin’)
- “Snoop’s Upside Ya Head” (The Doggfather)
- “Tha Shiznit” (Doggystyle)
- “That’s Tha Homie” (Malice in Wonderland) – Will be available for PS3 on Sept. 14
- “Who Am I (What’s My Name)?” (Doggystyle)
The Snoop Pack 01 will hit the Xbox Live Marketplace (1080 Microsoft Points/160 MSP per track) and Wii (200 Wii Points per track) on Sept. 7, and the PlayStation Network on Sept. 21 for $13.49/$1.99 per track.

Rockband has been out for like 8 years and now you guys are complaining about hip-hop songs that you dont even have to buy? Come on now. Rockband doesnt mean it has to be 100% rock.

I don't know if they can keep doing Hip-Hop, Most rap relies mainly off the beat and it's pretty hard to emulate that since most rap only use bass and the other sounds are there just to combine for a great sound

This is like putting chocolate in your peanut butter...only the chocolate is switched with old mayonnaise. I don't mind these artist being thrown in other games, but keep them out of ROCK Band.

Rockband is going downhill with their DLC. Ever since they had their first Country track pack I knew they'd go to hip hop and rap eventually...This is crap! I've been waiting for GOOD rock music that more than 500 people will like and everytime I check for new DLC it's all CRAP! Yes, Harmonix is pumping new DLC every week but they seem to be Genre confused. They made a party game called ROCK BAND. Not a party game that plays Country and Hip Hop and Rap. For christs sake! They Even have Spongebob on there! WTF!!!!

I love Snoop Dogg and all of the old-school hip-hop artists, but this is dumb! Why bring this to ROCK band? If they want to bring rap-rock to the game then that is fine, but do any of these songs listed have ANY rock element? If they want to bring rap-rock in I have some better ideas than Snoop:
"Bring Tha Noize" by Public Enemy and Anthrax
"Walk This Way" by Run DMC and Aerosmith
Also being a hardcore Rage Against the Machine fan I would absolutely love to have a full RATM album released on the game. The Battle of Los Angeles anyone?

Normally i would say no HIp-Hop in rockband but atleasyt its someone with a legendary career. Just please sont start adding just any Hip Hop artist to Rockband infact lets make this the one and only

Yeah I can dig this I like Snoop. Can't say I'd get it day one but it's definitely worth it to anyone that has tastes for other genres.
Just wish "Sexual Eruption" was on the list.
