We hang on every word Valve says. When you're the company behind Half-Life, Left 4 Dead and Portal, you earn that kind of attention. Well, in a recent interview, Valve head Gabe Newell said we can expect at least three big surprises in the coming year.
"I can guarantee you people are going to be surprised at stuff we do. That isn't going to stop any time soon. I'm just laughing because... people will be shocked again," Valve boss Gabe Newell told PC Gamer. "We have three pretty big surprises in the next 12 months at least."
I wouldn't be at all surprised at the announcement of Half-Life 2: Episode 3 this year. In fact, I'd be surprised if it wasn't announced... does this mean the non-announcement itself is one of the three surprises? No one can say, but whatever Valve ends up revealing, you can bet we'll tell you about it the second we hear anything!
As always, feel free to speculate in our comment section.

I have not played a valve game in the last few months. I know many of the guys I play games on valve have done the same. Games like TF2 and L4D one and two can get repetitive. That of course is after playing all of them for about 900 hours combined.
They plan some of their releases based on studying when a game starts to lose players. This mainly effects newer releases like L4d, l4d 2, TF2, etc.
I think HL2 episode 3 must have some software issues since it has not been released yet. I am sure valve would have loved to cash in it by now.
