At a special Apple Event just moments ago, Apple Founder Steve Jobs announced a new version of Apple's iOS operating system. Along with many squashed bugs, the addition of HD video uploads over WiFi and "High Dynamic Range photos," the iOS 4.1 will feature a "Game Center."
Game Center will act as a sort of lobby for iPhone and iPad gamers -- think of it as the equivalent of Xbox Live -- allowing you to create games with your friends, or matching you against simillarly skilled strangers for multiplayer gaming. You'll be able to issue challenges, compare scores, and otherwise be socially connected while you're gaming.
