Final Fantasy XIV Open Beta Starts Today

Good news Final Fantasy lovers! Square Enix has announced that the open beta for Final Fantasy XIV is set to begin at 7pm PST tonight. This certainly comes as a bit of surprise considering just yesterday Square Enix said the beta had been postponed due to “critical bugs.” However, it seems said bugs have been squashed, and it will soon be time for some good old-fashioned online Final Fantasy-ing.

The beta will be up and running later tonight, so if you feel like participating, be sure to head over to the beta sign up page and snag yourself a code. I know it’s like 10 hours before the beta starts, but, you’ve waited this long. What’s another few hours, right?

you guys misunderstand everything about this whole article and the game itself. firstly there is a link to where you can get a key. if you freakin spent the time and read what it says there you would know that they arnt going to be available until 7pm pst today.

as for the fatigue system you are wrong on how it works. its 8 hours of 100% xp then it starts to go down by some interval that is unknown to me. at the 15th hour is when you will get near 0% xp. its just their way of controlling how long it takes for someone to get to end-game. you are just perceiving it as a bad thing but the truth is that ALL xp systems are there to control how long it takes you to get to end-game. so now that you know the REAL numbers let me say that they are still tweaking it and those are in no way the final word. they could still remove it if it is received horribly during open beta.

Guys if you signed up for the Close Beta before it happened or during when it was going on then you would have gotten a email to the open beta website but right now no one can sign up till 10pm EST because it been postponed because of a bug which they already fix.On the fatigue do not turn away from the game because of that give it a chance the reason why they probably done it because of people playing it nonstop like they do in wow and ff online there earlier online version die when we hear these stories and second if you have problems with it then complain about it on there official game forums or make new suggestions.

    2. square suckerd me on the last final fanatasy

3.fatigue,really, WOW Learned the hard way and so will they, but they dont have the fan base like blizzard, or quailty, so the fans wont stay around long enough, for them to change it. like blizzard did

4.ill have other things too do.

wanted to play, but im not going to sit on there website all day, waiting for a code for a game. I was all rdy, not going to buy. I was hoping the beta would change my mind. Back to WOW

The concept of a "Fatigue" system is absolutely pathetic. I pay to play this game, why should I have to worry about my character getting too 'tired' to level up? Why should I rush myself to complete quests and kill mobs because I'm afraid of hitting the 8 hour limit just so the people at Square Enix can feel morally satisfied because a few die-hard gamers aren't wasting every single moment of their life on a MMORPG.

Square Enix can suck it and keep their dumb game. They haven't made a decent Final Fantasy since 10 anyway, they just spam epic graphics and expect people to buy it.

Make something original. Is that too hard to ask?

i heard it'll have a "Fatigue" system where if you play more than 8 hours in a week, the experience you get after hitting the 8th hour becomes zero. That alone will keep me away if it's true.
