Namco Bandai’s stunning upcoming adventure title Enslaved: Odyssey to the West will receive the ever-popular collector’s edition treatment, but, sadly, it will only be available in Europe. On the plus side, we here in the states get the standard edition three days earlier, so that’s...something.
The collector’s edition pictured above will include a hardcover artbook featuring concept art and behind the scenes shots taken throughout the game’s development at Ninja Theory, and the game’s official soundtrack on CD. Namco hasn’t revealed any pricing info just yet.
Hopefully, we’ll get a comparable edition stateside, because this game keeps inching its way higher and higher on my most anticipated games of the year list.
Should the need arise, feel free to E-Mail me your tips, suggestions, and/or personal philosophies, or follow me on Twitter.

The new Halo Reach with the statue is awesome. To bad it is not included in the limited Xbox bundle.

Special editions just don't seem that great. Even the stuff I'm a huge fan of just doesn't seem worth it to shell out 30 extra bucks. Let's face it. This is a generally strange title and no one has the slightest idea how good it is going to be. Therefore the collector's edition probably wouldn't sell even if it was worth getting (and a cd and sketch book are not worth getting).

Sigh, I love artbooks with Fallout 3 and Blizzard's being some of the best and depending on the game, the soundtrack can have better music than anything on the radio yet people want night vision goggles? a shoddily made batarang? I'd gladly get this if it was coming here

There's really nothing "special" in this special edition. A cd of the soundtrack? Ooooooo I'll make sure that gets right into my cd player. And an artbook. Wow. If this were available in the States, i'd be $79.99.
What boggles my mind is that companies don't get it yet. In "special editions", consumers actually want something "special". The Big Daddy statue from BioShock. The goggles in MW2. Extra levels of gameplay, game enhancements only available through the purchase of the "special edition", etc. Stuff that makes it worth the extra 20, 30, or 40 dollars being put down for the game itself. Anyone remember the Batman:AA special edition? A plastic baterang and a "journal". C'mon!
If I'm going to be putting down my hard earned money on something, it's going to take alot more than a freaking art book and cd.

I'm not sure what to think about this game yet. I'm not really jealous of the European Collector's Edition because it doesn't look like anything I'd really want... but then again I'm not sold on the game sooo I'll just give it time. When's it going to be released?
