There have been quite a few Lord of the Rings games released in the wake of Peter Jackson’s mildly successful film adaptations, and while most of them have given players the chance to experience events depicted in either the novels or the films. But as Jem Alexander found out during Gamescom last week, Snowblind Studio’s RPG The Lord of the Rings: War in the North will let players witness a previously undeveloped portion of the LOTR universe:
“The developers at Snowblind have the rights to both the books and the films and they're working alongside Middle-Earth Enterprises to make sure everything fits with the Lord of the Rings. This allows them to not only create a story within the canon of the Lord of the Rings franchise, but to actually fill in a section of the story which has long been debated about by fans.”
Put down the ring, and check out Jem’s full LOTR: War in the North preview for more.

Mildly successful? I guess that would make Avatar's box office take just 'satisfactory' and Inception an outright failure.
But anyway, this is definitely one of my most anticipated games. Can't wait.
