Back to the Future Trilogy Finally Coming To Blu-ray

Posted August 26, 2010 - By Kevin Kelly

Has it really been 25 years since Back to the Future came out? If only I could travel back to 1985 and go watch myself watching this in the theater. Well, the next best thing is picking up the entire trilogy, complete with tons of extra features, for the first time ever on Blu-ray. This is a movie series that every geek should have memorized, although I'll forgive you if you haven't committed every tidbit of BTTF II to memory. That movie just seemed like a long preview for Back to the Future Part III.

There are deleted scenes and commentaries and all that jazz in this 25th Anniversary boxed trilogy set, but I'm mostly excited about the fact that they're going to include some brief scenes of Eric Stoltz as Marty McFly. He was originally cast as the time-traveling teen, but was replaced by Michael J. Fox, and ... well we all know how it turned out. Look for this set on October 26 this year in both DVD and Blu-ray flavors.
