Insomniac Games hasn’t said or shown much about their recently announced threequel Resistance 3, however, the developer has confirmed that the game will release sometime in 2011.
While it had been assumed that Insomniac was hard at work on a follow up to their 2008 PlayStation 3 shooter Resistance 2, we hadn’t heard anything concrete about the game, aside from leaked images of a billboard, until Gamescom 2010 when the first official teaser trailer was released. But even that didn’t really provide any answers about the game.
And unlike the highly polished in-game demo of BioShock Infinite that Irrational Games showed off at Gamescom, even though the game isn’t due out until 2012, the Resistance 3 trailer was entirely live-action and didn’t include any gameplay. If 2011 is the target for the game, it would seem that the game would have to be much farther into development than Insomniac is willing to acknowledge. Stupid secretive jerks.
Sadly, Insomniac has said that it won’t be revealing anything new during next week’s PAX 2010, so it looks like it will be a little while before we hear anything more about Resistance 3.

Hopefully the game will go back to the gritty style of R:FoM. Oh, how i loved those days...

I recall them saying they would have gameplay at PAX but that was back when nobody KNEW what the game was.

I think we will get some small details, then they will have the big stuff like gameplay and all that at E3 next year.

HA! Valve said they would not be showing portal 2 at E3 and guess what they did? Insomniac cannot not talk about this game at PAX esp because they do have their own panel with Adam Sessler. I am willing to wager that they will be showing something at PAX

well it would make sense since the movie the R3 billboard is in wil lbe out early next year and i hope they reverted back to R1 type of gameplay with split screen campaign coop and the weapon wheel :-D
