When we last spoke to former Infinity Ward leaders Jason West and Vince Zampella, the duo promised a video game that will "make [gamers'] heads explode, and get them completely excited and give them a ton of fun."
As for what that game will be, and when our heads will explode, we still don't know, Zampella and West aren't the only ones who are expecting greatness, though. EA Partners GM David DeMartini expects big things too.
“We’re highly, highly confident of what they’re end product is going to be,” said DeMartini of Respawn's upcoming game, in an interview with gaming blog VG247. “They’ve told us that when they’ve got something great, they’re going to show us something.”
DeMartini went on to explain the relationship between Respawn and EA, an arrangement that I have to figure every developer in gaming would find amazing.
“Those guys have a long track record. It’s interesting in managing partners, especially really skilled and talented partners, because early on you’re kind of, ‘How much do we get involved? Do we call them? Do we not call them?’ We’re trying to give those guys a lot of room,” he said.
Sadly, we don't have any real details of what Respawn is making. No release date. No platforms. No genre. But the game is coming from the minds behind Modern Warfare, so even with such a dearth of hard facts, we're still following everything we can about this game. Sadly, it might be awhile:
“They’re doing it the right way," DeMartini said. "They had to get technology from the ground up. It’s definitely a start-up. Start-up companies take a lot of administration as well as creative energy to get those things started.”

Think about why they all left Activision in the first place. They most likely did not want to do another Modern Warfare, or a shooter in general. Activision wanted them to keep making COD games. They got pissed and left (over-simplified to create a point).
I bet they've had an idea for several new games and possibly concept art and so forth from spare time. Whatever they dip their toe in, it will be unbelievable.
I hope they branch out into different genres.

Grammar police, it should be "their"
We re highly, highly confident of what they re end product is going to be,
Anyway, I'm going to judge Respawn a lot harsher than I did Infinity Ward. Respawn has repeatedly said that they were creatively bound. Now that the chains are off, this game had better be as epic as they claim.

Good for them. i will be really excited to see what these guys can do besides a call of duty game. Im Really glad that EA accepted them with open arms the second activision kicked them out. Activision is like the dark side of gaming lol

screw these guys, screw infinity ward and screw respawn. they crapped out MW2 and then ran and left the game to fend for itself along with the people that blew $60 on it. I will NEVER buy an infinity ward or respawn game. at least Treyarch cares about their games and manages them well and quickly. world at war might not have been as good as 4 but the maintenance was FAR better. not to mention that Black Ops is going to be much better than 4 or MW2 anyway

EA has Battlefield, MOH, Bulletstorm. Respawn doesn't need to add their piss to this pool because even if a lot of MW people will follow them to a new game, it's a pretty saturated market. I would LOVE to see what they could do with an open world third person shooter!

I thought they are waiting to take there shot at MOH.

Whatever it is it better have steroid-induced Space Marines!

one more thing... if they release another Online shooter that does not support dedicated servers, i will never buy another game Jason West or Vince Zampella make.... ever... Its one thing having an occasional shooter that doesn't support dedicated servers, i can avoid it easily enough... but if they try to push a lack of dedicated servers as a norm in the online shooter genre, i will never buy anything they touch ever again.

these guys need to make something original. not some "perfected clone" of something everyone has already played. i know they can make something so much better than just a call of duty game. if they really are going to create something from the ground up thats NEW and if they really put to work what they say they are, i have no doubt it will blow everyones minds.
Atavax
i am hopeful that it won't be a realistic shooter... ea already has battlefield, do they really need another realistic shooter brand? i dont think so. Hopefully we get something completely new and hopefully we don' t get a sequel to the new game in less then 3 years after the original is released. If it takes less then 3 years to make a sequel to an online shooter, they did not innovate enough.

I agree with Mystyr_e(Didn't mean for it to rhyme). But I'm a little spent on the Military shooters as well. It went from a concept for a shooter game, to an all out genre all by itself. Like most gamers I have a lot of faith in Respawn and what they are capable of doing, but I would love to see them apply that creativity towards a new game altogether, and not just continue to milk the same franchise.

If they do make a COD clone I vote for Vietnam, no killstreaks, less perks, balanced weapons, better graphics, and an awesome soundtrack!
Mystyr_E
am I the only one that doesn't want them to do military shooters? I mean, we have Medal of Honor, Battlefield, Call of Duty, Breach, Blacklight 1 and 2 coming next year, I mean, more personal preference I guess but I'd rather they try something new rather than just do another modern shooter.
Chunky_2336
so go back to their roots with Medal of honor allied assualt? where it was the player with the gun, not with commando pro or ninja pro.
IBloodstormI
I'm hoping they make a game that isn't all about knifing and shotgunning. Get rid of the perks, just the load outs and a whole load of attachments, and definitely get rid of the kill streaks. I sold my MW2 for those reasons alone.

Sorry, typo in the previous post: Make it like MW2 but withOUT all the glitches that allow so much CHEATING! I'm so sick of 10th lobby spam. Get some skills people, play the game and don't ruin for legit players.
