The big innovation added to the Ratchet and Clank series with All 4 One is right there in the title: The number 4. The game allows for four-player co-op. In Jake Gaskill's Gamescom preview, he spent some time with three pals playing the game, and here's the report:
"Insomniac has scaled the game in such a way to make it enjoyable and fun for a lone player, but there are tons of incentives and bonuses (not to mention good old-fashioned horseplay) that can only be experienced with other players. One portion of the demo we saw required all four players to hold hands to form a human kite to ride the upward thrust of a wind tunnel to safety. You could do it with two players, but having to coordinate with three other players clearly made it all the more challenging and exciting."
