I love leaks and rumors. Something about getting information about a game before it's been "officially" released is fun in an "illicit knowledge" kind of way -- even if half the time it turns out to be inaccurate. So here's today's leak/rumor: A video reportedly shot at Gamescom (since pulled off the internet) showed off a bunch of new Rock Band 3 tracks.
I can't vouch for the truthfulness of any of these sources; it's not official, etc. But here's the lineup of might-be-in-the-game songs:

This set list is lame! Both Harmonix and Activision are bringing in "Big name bands" that the players of today have never heard of! What Rockband or Guitar Hero gamer these days have sat down and listened to a John Lennon song?? Gen Y people! We arent Baby Boomers!

Oh my god that is a horrible setlist. The only good songs are songs we've played three times before.. freebird , no one knows and smoke on the water.. I know pro mode is gonna change the whole face of rythym gaming but jesus give me some songs besides those three and crazy train that I actually wanna learn to play.

Well it took awhile but it's finally happening....there have been so many music games and DLC tracks that they're starting to run out of good songs. I dont know how they'll be able to do a Rock Band 4.

I've been hoping the Chicago rumor proves true, although you can't really do that song justice without brass instrument peripherals. And hopefully the lack of a Rush song choice means they've got multiple tracks to decide on and can give us the rest as DLC.

I really hope this isn't true. I love Rock Band but for a game with major music connections and over 1,800 songs in DLC to have 25% of the setlist in the next core franchise game being repeats from Guitar Hero (GH3 - current [not including handhelds]), is very disappointing. =(

the keyboard will be really cool to use on SOME songs. Bohemian Rhapsody.
The only problem is... my basic age of music is the 2000's, and in past rock bands their has been alot of 2000's. This one, not so much. I like paramore, and tegan and sara. But The Bronx? Where's Muse? Where's Coheed?
If this is the real setlist i'll still get the keyboard, and the disc because i love rock band. Dj Hero 2 will be amazing now that Dj Tiesto is in the game, already knowing deadmau5, and David Guetta is in it also!!!

Based on what I have experienced Guitar Hero features more modern rock, like Dragon Force (okay band..ehh not really),Pantera. But they also have some oldies in their that are...fun to play, like "Love gun" by KISS, and Alice Coopers "No more Mr. Nice Guy." So you kinda get the best of both worlds. But with rock band 3, which is still fun in my opinion, I see its all oldies.. I mean old songs are great and all but I kinda wanna play a song ive recently heard in the past 5-10 years.

ill be keeping RB2 and prolly upgrading my drumset to the new ION Drumset for the price this package is, im really dissaponted with this tracklist, it does reach out to old people but it leaves the younger crowd to purchse stuff on DLC channel......

Wow... whoever honestly believes this is the setlist is a complete idiot. Not only is this the worst set list, ever, for a music game (Where is the difficulty and challenge that Rock Band 2 brang (coming from a very avid expert drummer and guitarist) THE SONGS THEY HAVE RELEASED AND CONFIRMED ON THIS SETLIST. HOW CAN THIS POSSIBLY BE THE SETLIST WITHOUT CONFIRMED SONGS. Over like 15 confirmed songs right? 76 songs there right? 83 confirmed songs in the game, RIGHT? NONE OF THE CONFIRMED SONGS ARE ON THE LIST. THE MATH MAKES NO SENSE. Good job G4, and the person who posted this article is a complete idiot. So those of you like me, who absolutely think the setlist is terrible; you're in luck. It's a fake.

wow... this list holds absolutely no interest in me. I was ok with Freebird, but the fact they have Amy Winoclinic on here....no interest in this game what so ever I'll stick to RB2 and wait for a decent set for Guitar Hero's next game.
