As all of you smart little snowflakes are aware, not all games are home runs; some of them are only doubles, better than a base hit, but not as good as a triple. (Am I taking this analogy too far? Sorry, it's the start of softball season here at G4.) Anyway, Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days is one of those doubles. While our reviewer David Wolinsky found a lot to like about the game, he also found a lot not to like.
In the end, it sounds like a solid rental. From the review:
"More than anything, Kane & Lynch 2 strives to feel like an action movie of the more plausible variety—think more True Lies than Live Free Or Die Hard—and it serves the game well. It comes across in the “mature” cuss-laden dialogue, and especially in the sublime set pieces that you’ll fight tooth and nail in and then subsequently riddle with bullets. From the neon glow of the Chinese storefronts and DVD stores in malls to construction sites and an airport, the AI challenges you at every step to never back down. You’ll easily be gunned down if you’re too stubborn to take cover or if you get so frustrated you charge ahead, red faced, without clearing a path. Patient progression is usually the best approach, that and always keeping an eye out for snipers."

The demo was kinda fun, but no way I'm spending 60 bucks on this when there are so many other games coming out. This is a bargain bin / PSN download for me.

Eidos seems to believe that you can have an interesting visual style and that forgives everything else. Well, it doesn't. The game can be beaten in under 3 hours. Yes...under 3 hours.
I think the original might have actually been better. I know that sounds crazy, but I was more interested in the locations of the original. In this one it's just typical running around and shooting people. At least in the original there were some interesting scenarios. The only difference is that the first game had a lot more technical problems.

This game is underrated. I like the gritty stylized look and hardcore story line. The game play is nothing new, but I don't think there is anything wrong with that. It's a game that knows what it is, an action shooter, and that is exactly what you get.

Well put...honestly, it's time for new rules. Accept in the case of personal choice and sure hits, I'm buying most of my games months after they have come out. That way, you can enjoy a cheaper used price off Amazon, access to all the DLC, reviews, and walkthroughs. I haven't played a game worth $60 in a long time.

I had spent a few hours and i think its a good game, but for 60 dollars is what you really start asking yourself after your playing it. Don't get me wrong i think it was worth it for my personal enjoyment, but if they really want to sell this game to hill the should of priced about 45 dollars. Or better yet take all of the maps and guns they split up during the preorders and sell it with the acutal game, but that's just me.

The game is fun and the multiplayer is fun. Like most games out there, if you like the multiplayer, buy it. If you don't, then borrow it from a friend or rent it. It gets bonus points for having co-op. Nothing beats yelling at your buddy and telling him it's his fault you died.
