Sony today revealed that Virtua Tennis 4 is coming in 2011, and will allow support for the PlayStation Move and be playable in 3D. The game comes out some time in 2011.
Here's how Sony described the technological innovations The Move will bring to this venerable tennis series:
The advanced motion sensors of PlayStation Move precisely track both the fast and subtle movements of the controller allowing for pinpoint accurate shots as players improve their racquet skills. Virtua Tennis 4 will also support 3D technology delivering unprecedented realism to the tennis experience, bringing you closer than ever to being out on the court.
There's something about tennis games. For some reason, I always think I won't like playing them, then quickly become utterly engrossed in whatever tennis game is out. Virtua Tennis has always been a solid series, and if there are any sport ever tailor-made for the Move, they're golf and tennis, so I, for one, am very excited for Virtua Tennis 4.
I hope I'll get to play as the Williams sisters. We'll find out soon--the full player line-up and more details will be revealed in the coming months.

Virtua Tennis 2K2 is my favorite sports game of all time. Ahead of Madden, Live, NBA/NFL 2K series - all of them. That game was friggin' amazing.
My old roommate and our friend would have matches that spanned hours. Literally.
I mainly just loved creating my own player and raising his skill through matches and those addicting mini-games.

Virtua Tennis... I sure hope they update the realism beyond the state-of-the-hype stuff (3D, e.g.). If this tennis sim doesn't have the challenge system, I'll pass. LOL
