You knew it was coming, right? Everyone (me included) who was bemoaning the fact that Resistance 3 was nowhere to be seen at E3 can now breathe easy: we got the official announcement at Gamescom.
Since the release of Resistance 2, we’ve listened to your feedback to help fine-tune what we know will become a respected addition to the franchise. Our Burbank studio has done a phenomenal job of crafting a cruel and brutal Resistance 3 world. You can catch a glimpse of it by watching the live-action Resistance 3 teaser trailer shown during the PlayStation Press Conference at GamesCom today. Follow @insomniacgames on Twitter and you'll be the first to know when we've uploaded it for you to watch and share with all your friends.
We've seen the trailer already, which features a mix of live action footage and CGI. Keep your dial tuned right here and you can watch it on G4 as soon as we get it. For those of you who are very impatient, you can download some wallpapers for the newly announced title over on Insomniac's website. Finally, right?

Awesome Resistance is the true Halo killer. That trailer was an amazing piece of work. If Insomniac can put together a live-action trailer like that, imagine if it were a movie. Can't wait until the release date is announced. Just hope its not in 3D...well on second thought that would be kind of nice. I wonder who will the main character will be.. will you be able to create him or her. I would love to use the playstation eye to scan my face into the game.

WOO!, Resistance Fall of man was my first ps3 game. When I Finished the second one, I thought it was gonna be done because of the main character.. (Im not going to spoil). This trailer proved me wrong. This is the best trailer so far. I smell co-op all around this game.

Looks like we will be playing Resistance 3 as a bunch of hobos. Not that thats a bad way to go considering Hale is dead and the planet is overrun with mutant aliens. I can't wait to see some gameplay, hopefully at TGS.

Insomniac is such a consistent developer, it's a new generation and Resistance was also new with the generation. While R2 was lackluster in some respects, it was still decent and now that they are already on their 3rd game with this franchise. They're rapidly becoming a Sony flagship title on par with SOCOM/Metal Gear Solid.

i know this is just a trailer... a real action one at that, but this kinda remids of left 4 dead which would make sense giving the ending of resistance 2. I wonder if the trailer has anything to do with the actual gameplay
