Own a PlayStation 3? Enjoy Mass Effect? Well this is your lucky day. Actually, it's almost your lucky day, Your real lucky day will come this January. During Gamescom today, BioWare announced it will release the critically acclaimed sci-fi RPG Mass Effect 2 for the PlayStation 3 in January 2011.
The good Dr. Ray Muzyka from BioWare didn't share any other details, like whether or not the original Mass Effect would be included to make it a full package for PS3 owners, but we'll be all over this news at the show, so stay tuned. Hopefully this also means that Mass Effect 3 will make a simultaneous appearance on both platforms.

they need to have mass effect 1 for PS3 also. that way i can replay it and transfer the save to ME2. You listening Bioware?!?!

Thank you a million times over Bioware for putting on this sublime title Iv`e been drooling over since Xplay`s original Mass Effect trailer. Not all us Console Platformers are dumbasses and I can`t wait to try my hand at this Massive Badboy. I played it for about an hour on my Buddies` PC and my premonition was true, this game rocks. RUSE and the Fallout 3 outta prep me for it real good, thank you again and I know it`s an early christmas wish Todd Howard, but if you could drop a line to uncle Cliffy, I`d sure like to try my hand at his awesome gears franchise. Best of wishes!!!

its a sad day for a 360 fan but i am glad that everone will be able to play this game it is by far the best single player game ever i just hope they don't slap all the DLC in there too cuz thats not fair i had to pay for it so they should too and how about for once they port a ps3 game to 360

i have both systems and i haven't picked up mass effect 2 yet but i think i will due to good reviews and im getting it for 360 since its the overall better console

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. MASS EFFECT 2 WAS NEVER EXCLUSIVE. IT WAS FOR PC. WHY YOU ALL THINK WE WOULD GIVE YOU A TRIPLE A EXCLUSIVE TITLE FOR A MULTI-PLATFORM TITLE IS BEYOND ME. IT'S NOT LIKE THE 360 COULD RUN HEAVY RAIN OR GOD OF WAR.

YAY excited... This game was one of the only reasons i wanted a 360 and this announcement came out i am so excited...
And to all the 360 fan boys... u still got one up one me... ALL my friends are on a 360 playing MW2 and BC2...360 is just a better online system....Still might buy one just to be able to play with my friends...
I think this game should be shared with all (Same with the God of War series and The Resistance series) That is all

Yay! I can't wait to try this one out. This move kinda compares to putting out God of War on the 360. Now if we PS3 users could only get our hands on Fable.....

there is going to be NOTHING different between the PS3 and x360 versions. It makes no sense why Microsoft didn't put up an exclusive deal with this game. It doesn't matter that it's going to PS3, more people will still buy the x360 version over the PS3 version any day.

Mass Effect 2 was an amazing game, so was the first one but if the first one is not ported also there is really no point in playing it because the story wouldn't make sense and the story is what makes the game in my opinion.

honestly, i hated the first mass effect. the shooting sucked, and i was very disappointed. however, they fixed everything in mass effect 2 and even though i hated the first, ME2 might very well be my favorite game of all time. ps3 owners have something amazing to look forward to.

I honestly am loving the vibe of the comments. Most of them are just saying how great it is that PS3 owners will get a chance to experience this masterpiece and not just crying about something they can't change. If only the whole gaming world could be like this. Keep it up. We'll get there.

This news is somewhat bitter sweet for PS3 owners. I'm happy for ME2 finally coming, but would be happier if the original Mass Effect would come out as well.
