Fresh from Quakecon comes the announcement that id Software's Rage won't be released until September September 13, 2011, so we all have more than a year to wait to play this first-person shooter from the makers of Doom.
Some interesting new details were dropped at the Con as well, including the existence of some mini games, some sweet-looking vehicles, multiplayer races for in-game cash and more.
Rage won't feature large cut-scenes. The story will be largely propelled through in-game action. As far as the gameplay goes, thre tactical options were shown: Auto-turrets, RC bomb cars, or plain old gunplay. If you prefer mixing it up man to man, the game supports melee combat too.
