Irrational Games have pulled back the velvety curtain on their next eye-popping, politically-charged, and unsurprisingly unnerving shooter BioShock Infinite. The big reveal came yesterday during a press event in New York City, and John Teti was on hand to soak up all the anti-Rapture-ish goodness that appears to be at the heart of what Ken Levine and company are attempting with their absurdly anticipated follow up to their critically acclaimed hit BioShock. Here’s a taste of what John had a chance to see:
“First and foremost: We’re not in Rapture anymore, Toto. Infinite takes place during the early 1900s, in Columbia, a utopian sky city built on massive airships. Levine explained that Columbia is constructed “as an example to the world of the success of the American system.” It isn’t a secret project like Rapture—it’s an international P.R. stunt.”
Trust me. You definitely want to check out John’s full BioShock Infinite first look preview this instant. 2012 never seemed so far away.
