Irrational Games’ head Ken Levine has confirmed that not only will a trailer for his team’s next game, codenamed Project Icarus, be officially unveiled during a press event tomorrow in New York City, but those in attendance will also be treated to a live demo of the game. I know. Bunch of jerks, right?
The trailer will be available on the game’s website at 1:45pm EST on August 12, 15 minutes before the embargo lifts for news coverage. Levine explained in an update on Irrational’s site that the timing of the trailer’s release is intentional, adding, “Trust me, there’s a reason.”
Levine also confirmed that the demo footage from the press event tomorrow will be released “in the coming weeks.”
Check back here tomorrow for all the details from the big Project Icarus reveal. I suggest tracking down your best pair of happy pants now just to be safe.

so the "press event" tomorrow is for the press, not us? usually the point of the "press" is to inform the public. so the press gets it tomorrow, we get it on the 12th? but, he hopes we see it BEFORE the 12th? does he hope we see it before that specific time on that day? this might be the most confabulated thing I've read all year...
the only way we'd see it BEFORE the 12th is for someone in the press to break the embargo. so what's the point of the embargo? i don't get it...
