If you watch them play in the background, a character selection screen pops up, and there are 36 squares in it... So I'm guessing there is going to to be 36 characters....

This game looks really exiting. I hope that they make the game less of a button masher and more of an enjoyable fighting game. I hope it's also easier for beginners but challenging enough for die hard fighting gamers.
