Civilization 5 Demo Incoming

I have to stay away from Sid Meier's Civilization 5 the same way I have to stay away from heroin. If the game pans out to be as awesome as the last four games (or as awesome as the trailers make it seem), I'm afraid I'm going to lose my house, my family and my livelihood to the addictive power of Civ 5.

But much like my neighborhood dealer, the makers of Civ 5 are giving out a taste for free. A demo version of Civilization 5 comes out in September. Firaxis Games explains it like this on the Civ 5 website:

Many of you have written on the forums and emailed in questions about whether or not there will be a public demo for Civilization V.

Well, today I am excited to get to tell you that yes, there will be!

The demo will be released in September, before the full game is released. More details about what will be available in the demo, as well as the exact release date are coming soon, so stay tuned!
