Electronic Arts revealed during an investor conference call today that Crytek’s futuristic shooter Crysis 2 will now be released in early 2011.
The tech-pushing shooter was previously expected to release this fall, but EA will now bring the game to market sometime between January and March. EA explained during the investor call that the decision to push the release was made to give Crytek more time to polish the game and because Q4 2011 served as a more attractive release window for the game.
Crysis 2's delay makes early 2011 a particularly busy one for EA thanks to the scheduled releases of such as Dead Space 2, Bulletstorm, and Darkspore.

That's good.. improvement room to fix. I seen this coming, smart move because of the other games coming out. Good idea and i hate waiting but it'll be worth in the end. They better make it Direct x11 NOW :D for PC.

I'd rather it get pushed back for the polish and get the best game possible. I can only speak for myself of course, but I'll be a little busy playing Reach, Fallout Vegas and Dead Rising so I'm not entirely heartbroken, and neither is my wallet.

Just because there's a Call of Duty game coming out, doesn't mean that it's the reason developers are delaying their games. Sheesh....

Call of Duty has so many strikes against it this year it would have been outsold easily by one of these nice shooters set for early 2011. They have to battle Halo Reach, so that should be a battle to watch. I'm getting neither one..Brink and GR: Future Soldier..that's what I'm counting on.

Jeez, why is everyone running away from Call of Duty?! January-March is all of a sudden becoming the new "Christmas rush" (Killzone 3, Gear 3, Future Soldier, Bulletstorm, Crysis 2, Dead Space 2) I guess LittleBigPlanet 2 is the only game with the balls to face Call of Duty haha.
