This is an announcement announcing the announcement of the announcement of a new game from Insomniac. The Ratchet and Clank makers are preparing to reveal a new title some time between now and PAX Prime on Labor Day weekend.
We have no more information than that, although if you want to be among the first people to check out the trailer for Insomniac's incredible-mystery-OMG-what-is-it?? game, the move is to subscribe to their newsletter. They promise they'll be sending out a video of the game to newsletter subscribers the moment it's announced at PAX. We'll have the vid up at G4 soon after that, trust me.
Even better: If you're going to be at PAX in Seattle, attend Insomniac's panel on Saturday evening (September 4), at 6:30pm in the Serpent Theatre. Where X-Play's own Adam Sessler will moderate a panel with key creative talent from Insomniac Games. Whatever the new game is will be shown, and demoed, to the adoring crowd at Penny Arcade's Expo.

I hope we hear about that new ip they are working on with EA but I would be very happy with any resistance 3 news aswell. Yes, resistance 2 was not as good as the first one, but it was still a pretty good fps, however I do hope that they bring back certain things from resistance one like the weapon wheel.

hummm.. sucker punch vs naughty dog vs insomniac, infamous vs uncharted vs resistance...humm.. idk guys, i'm thinking these guys need to make an entirely fresh new wave of platformers, cuz every time they bring out a new IP it becomes instant GOLD, i'm definitely ready for this :) any comments?

Well Insomniac always makes good quality games. I doubt a Ratchet and Clank sequel, considering the Future series is done. Also with Resistance already being leaked, I have a feeling that it's that. I'm hoping for info on the EA partners IP though. Whatever it is, I will be interested. :)

That billboard was leaked much more than a few months ago and Insomniac also recently made a partnership with EA to make a multi-platform game so they might be announcing the new IP so please don't call people out until you do your research.

They already accidentally announced Resistance 3 a few months back. They wanted to get the billboard into a movie coming out in 2011 and a bunch of people took pictures of it. The advert has the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building on it, so I think it's safe to say it's in NYC.

I hope its Resistance 3! but more than likely its not because the article says NEW GAME so its not going to be a sequel for a previous game. My guess is that its that new game Insomniac is making for the PS3 and Xbox 360 which I read was in development months ago

as much as i love Insomniac i thought the announcement of the announcement ... was lame just announce it already geez we all saw the billboard and know R3 is coming i just hope they went back to R1 which was infinitely better then R2. But seeing how they apologized for not having Ratchet & Clank DLC the newsletter starts off with this:
"It s been a long road since we launched Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time to your rave reviews last Fall. While we haven t had any new game content to show you since then, that s about to change in a big way."
So they might just announce a new quest for booty type of small PSN mini-game.
Also very curious about their new EA partners IP.
