Today at the Halo: Universe panel at Comic-Con, Frank O'Connor showed off two nifty easter eggs that are built into the new Xbox 360 Halo: Reach Limited Edition Xbox 360 Console. The power and eject buttons both have a tiny bit of RAM in them, and if you've played around with the normal new edition of the console, you've heard the soothing power chime when you switch it on.
But for this Halo-centric version, they've included two special sounds: power on and the console plays the Invisibility power-up sound and hit the eject button and you'll hear the Shield Charging effect. Major Nelson should have a video up soon on his site showing these off.
Also, when asked if we would see the continuation of Master Chief's story, Frankie said, "At the end of Halo 3, and cover your ears if you haven't played it, Master Chief is in cryosleep. Cortana has sent a rescue signal, and they are orbiting a strange world. We'd have to be the world's biggest assholes to not follow through on his story." At which point, the audience erupted into huge cheers.

Right, kingdaniel97, which means that he is either talking about Halo: Reach (he didn't say he wouldn't be "followed through" in Reach) or about a Halo game by someone other than Bungie, since Microsoft owns the IP. In that case, Halo 4 would probably suck.

To all here. "Bungie" didn't let you know anything, O'Connor is one of the heads of 343 Industries, Microsoft's Halo group. Bungie is not going to work on another Halo game for at least 10 years(likely never again) so a Bungie guy will have no information about Halo 4/Halo: Onyx/Halo: Modern Warfare or any other game Microsoft puts out. Bungie may have made the series bible but like the modern catholic church, any future the franchise has will be far detached from their hands. Meaning no bungie.net integration, no Bungie Day, no weekly community updates. Just waiting and hoping for Bungie to cut their Activision contract due to unpaid royalties. Future doesn't look so bright now, does it?

Don't get too excited Halo fanboys; Frank O'Conner implied that Master Chief's story would be "followed through", BUT he never said Master Chief was in Halo Reach.

I have to agree with "AntiquesRoadwarrior" I have also read the books and the remaining spartan's are John aka master chief, their is also Linda and Kelly both female spartan's and Fred is a male spartan they are the last ones for those of you who haven't followed the books. My guess is that Bungie is going to wait till the next system comes out before they give us halo 4 so that it will be an amazing experience.

Way back in 2007, my guess was that Master Chief was orbiting over Onyx, where he would rescue those old Spartan II's and Doctor Halsey trapped in the shield world that the Forerunners used to survive the first use of the Halo Rings. It won't be Reach, because MC already picked up the Spartan survivors in First Strike, and that planet was completely glassed. Those guys are now in a Micro Dyson Sphere (Not the big yellow ball on a vacuum cleaner) on Onyx. Did I mention that Doctor Halsey created the Spartan program and is the personality of Cortana? Yeah, you might say I'm involved in the fiction.

I'm guessing the planet he's orbiting over at the end of 3 is reach and Noble team has somehow survived and picks him up.

I predict: At the end of Halo:Reach, albeit Legendary ending, it shows a montage of the Halo trilogy showing what happened next, likely fast paste, new graphics optional, and finally it shows what happened to Master Chief.
Still waiting for and XBLArcade version of Halo 1. XBOriginals just doesn't cut it.
