Comic-Con 2010: Street Fighter X Tekken Cinematic Trailer »
Capcom just announced that it is developing two more crossover fighting titles that will pit two iconic franchises against one another like never before: Street Fighter X Tekken, and Tekken X Street Fighter.
Street Fighter X Tekken will feature 2D gameplay, and will be developed by Capcom, while Tekken X Street Fighter, which may or may not be in 2D, will be handled by Tekken developers. Both titles will be coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Here's the official breakdown:
Street Fighter X Tekken will feature a similiar presentation style as that of Street Fighter IV, and in addition to Versus and Training modes, the game will feature Tag Team combat where "players select two fighters to deliver knockout assist attacks and special combos."
Capcom and Namco started discussing the game over a year ago, so it’s still in the early stages of development, and won’t be out “for a while.” During their Comic-Con panel, Capcom suggested that in the meantime, fans should “enjoy Marvel vs. Capcom 3 while you wait.” And to see Ryu and Kazuya Mishima battling it out all you have to do is click here.

Tekken and Street Fighter look way different from each other! I'm excited to see how capcom and namco make their own versions of the game. This is gonna be awesome!

oh man this sounds epic, if they could only make a tekken vs soul calibur but i'm pretty sure that would be harder considering the weapons

Pretty cool trailer, although I was more interested when it sounded like it was going to be 'Capcom vs Namco'. When I heard that original rumour I found myself more interested in seeing Street Fighter and Soul Calbiur characters cross over than SF and Tekken. :P

It'll be interesting to see how this works out. Both games have their own unique game play style. The cool part is that both companies will make their own version. I think each will make a game suited to their respective fans. Capcom will probably make a game with Street Fighter style game play while Namco will make a game with Tekken style game play.
