Visceral Games revealed during their Comic-Con panel two new projects based on their horror franchise Dead Space: a new animated feature called Dead Space Aftermath and a new graphic novel entitled Dead Space Salvage.
Dead Space Aftermath tells the story of “the Augis VII disaster and explores how the Government sends an unwitting crew of people to get exposed to Marker shards.” Poor bastards. Starz/Film Roman, the same team who created Dead Space: Downfall animated prequel to the original Dead Space, as well as Dante’s Inferno: An Animated Epic, is developing the feature, which will be released prior to the launch of Dead Space 2 in January.
Dead Space Salvage follows the nightmarish tale of another group of poor bastards who come across the abandoned mining ship setting of Dead Space, the USG Ishimura, and must fight to survive against eve-growing numbers of necromorphs. The graphic novel will feature artwork by fantasy and sci-fi artist Christopher Shy, and will be published by IDW this December.
