Are you a fan of Choose Your Own Adventures, or do you like playing God? Epic Games and Microsoft think you might like that responsibility so they're putting the fate of the newest Carmine brother in your hands. Clayton Carmine will be the newest rookie brother in Gears of War 3 and starting July 29, fans can purchase two new avatar t-shirts ("Save Carmine" and "Carmine Must Die"), each purchase casting a vote for Carmine's survival or demise. Before you think this is just another way to churn out a buck, all proceeds are going to the Child's Play Charity. And then there's what Microsoft is doing at Comic-Con.
According to Microsoft:
"Fans attending Comic-Con International in San Diego this week will also be able to cast their votes early by purchasing real life limited edition “Save Carmine” or “Carmine Must Die” t-shirts at the NECA booth (#3145) for $20.00. Gears fans can also visit the Xbox 360 booth (#5153) to be play Gears of War 3 Beast Mode throughout the show. Finally, the team from Epic Games, including design director Cliff Bleszinski, executive producer Rod Fergusson and lead writer Karen Traviss, will be signing Comic-Con exclusive posters at the Xbox booth on Saturday, July 24 at 12:00 p.m. PDT."
So Gearsheads, if you're headed to San Diego, make sure to pick up a t-shirt as there are no current plans to sell the physical shirts outside of Comic-Con!
I always play Gears with an optimistic spirit. I can single-handedly save humanity, yes I can! So clearly, I'm on a mission to keep Carmine safe. Which way are you leaning, life or death?

Back to topic - The shirts at $20 is a great deal that will go to a good cause. I just hate to see how much people will be gouged when they hit Ebay.

Anthony and Benjamin both died so why must Clayton die? Seriously, it would be messed up if all three brothers died. Remember the movie Saving Private Ryan? Three of the four brothers died so they brought the living one back home from the battlefield to his mother. That was a great movie so let's make this a great game. Save Carmine!

As much as i would like Carmine to live i think he should die. Like someone said, let him live the entire game and then he dies in a funny way during the credits or something. Carmine is like Kenny he should come back again if another GOW game comes out but die.

Carmine is my personal favorite in all the gears games because hes not a giant beef stick and who i always play as, i say let him live, unlike trying to unjam his rifle or get eatn by a giant worm.

I always enjoy Carmine's company. In the first gears he was a mad man chainsawing ever locust he can. In the 2nd he was your trainee who wanted nothing more to make you proud. I think this one should live I mean look at him you think he would not be angry about his brothers. He is out for blood and blood he should have.Let him live and lets see him slaughter all the locust in a glorious ballet of blood.

I say save the guy. I think it would make for an extra semi-emotional impact there at the end for him to be the one Carmine that survives, and starts kicking butt for all his lost brothers, or something like that.
One thing for all of you sadistic puppies out there voting for his death, you don't get to choose how he dies. That part is completely and utterly out of your hands. You may pick for him to die, and he will die in the most mundane way possible.
This isn't South Park, and the guy ain't Kenny. I feel like if he dies, while they will try to impart some emotional impact, it'll seem too much like comic relief.
Regardless of which side wins, I think they should keep it hush-hush. They would make playing through that much better if we're constantly wondering "is he gonna die now?", "Is he gonna make it?" Add in a few good close calls to really keep us wondering...

Have him be like Marla Singer in Fight Club, walking around without any regard for personal safety because he thinks he's going to die anyway. Then, at the end of the game, kill everyone BUT Carmine, in the nastiest, most atrocious ways possible, "Berserk" style. That's how I get my LOL's.

I wish I could vote for a fate worse than death, like being the mate of a 600 pound male gorilla for the rest of his natural born days, and then longer. I'm sure Cliff could think up something better.
