Ubisoft Aims For 30 Percent Of 3DS Market

Posted July 16, 2010 - By Stephen Johnson

UbisoftNintendo's 3DS handheld was the hit of E3 and I'd bet anything it'll be a hit when its released. Ubisoft seems to agree with my assessment. The company would like to have six to eight titles for the launch of the system, targeting 30 percent of the software available.

UK sales director Darren Bowen said, "“We will have six to eight of the key launch titles on  3DS, so we are expecting anywhere between 25 and 30 per cent share on that platform."

We learned at E3 that Ubi is working on 3D versions of Assassin’s Creed: Lost Legacy, Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Battle of Giants: Dinosaur Strike and a new Driver game. So that's most of them. I wonder what other properties the company will add to the 3D mix? Anyone care to speculate?
