Dead Rising 2 Zombrex Edition Detailed, Priced

Capcom is in full Dead Rising mode today. First, they drop releaes details about their Zombrex Dead Rising Sun movie, and now they have revealed the first info about the Dead Rising 2 Zombrex special editions coming to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 exclusively in North America on September 28.

While both editions cost $79.99, there are two main differences. The 360 edition includes the full, 83-minute Zombrex Dead Rising Sun film, while the PS3 edition comes with a voucher for an XMB dynamic theme. Seems a bit lopsided, but the movie, which is being released episodically, will be viewable online (a week after they appear on Xbox Live, but still), so PS3 owners aren't really missing anything.

Check out the full contents of both editions:

PlayStation 3:

  • Exclusive Two-Disc Steelbook case includes:
  • Dead Rising 2 game disc
  • Blu-Ray Disc featuring a High-Definition 24 minute “Making of” featurette
  • Complete box contents include:
  • Steelbook case (described above)
  • Zombrex “Syringe” pen
  • Zombrex “Prescription” notepad (25 pages)
  • Zombrex “Safety” card
  • Zombrex “Prospectus” Sales Brochure (16 pages).
  • Dead Rising 2 Hardback Artbook (48 pages)
  • Voucher for  XMB Dynamic Theme

Xbox 360

  • Exclusive Two-Disc Steelbook case includes:
  • Dead Rising 2 game disc
  • High-Definition game disc with 83 Minute Zombrex Dead Rising Sun motion picture and 24 minute “Making of” featurette
  • Complete box contents include:
  • Steelbook case (described above)
  • Zombrex “Syringe” pen
  • Zombrex “Prescription” notepad (25 pages)
  • Zombrex “Safety” card
  • Zombrex “Prospectus” Sales Brochure (16 pages).
  • Dead Rising 2 Hardback Artbook (48 pages)

So special edition hounds, what do you think?

looks crap if u ask me. the edition being offered at capcom's online store, the high stakes edition is way better for an extra tenner. to bad gamestop isn't carrying or i would get it. I don't like ordering games online. i enjoy the experience of the midnight release or getting there the seconds the doors open at 10 am going home, and enjoying a nice cup of joe while i install a game.

Throw a pitchfork-shotgun letter opener in there too if they want to go the office supplies route.

That's a sweet looking pen. It'd be sweeter if it was a dip pen. With a little vial of blue Zombrex ink. I'd pay twenty extra bucks for that.

I would have preferred the UK version with the 12" zombie action figure.

Not that I would buy it either way, but the fact that the film isn't on the PS3 version is complete BS... you have the advantage of BluRay discs and you don't release it to PS3? That's just messed up.

Believe it or not, I think I'll pass on this. I'll just pick up the regular version on Amazon.

Question, why doesn't the PS3 edition have The 1st Dead Rising with it? Back when It came out Capcom said they were going to release a PS3 version of the game, but instead they put it on the Wii for some random-a@& reason.

looks like i'll be passing on the special edition version of this game. although it does kinda suck that one version gets a mini movie while the other doesn't. it would have been nice especially for people that just had/have a ps3 and didn't play the 1st game.

pretty cool, but i think weve been getting ripped off on collectors and special editions compared to europe. they get a zombie action figure with a traffic cone and giant lego mask : (

For 80 bucks, they could at least include a copy of the first Dead Rising.

    Limited Edition Statue?... No
Exclusive in game content ( Costume, Mission, or Weapon)?... Nope.
How about Frank West as a playable character?... No
I know a code for future downloads... Nah.
So what are we including in the Limited Edition?... A sweet Pad and Pen.

Really thats the best you could come up with?!!!
