Sega's commitment to Kinect will go beyond downloadable Sonic the Hedgehog racers, said Sega of America COO Mike Hayes in an interview with CVG. The publisher is currently working on a more elaborate -- "sophisticated," says Sega -- Kinect game to be released in the next few years.
"We've got one good idea and hopefully something will be out the back end of next year, perhaps early 2012," said Hayes, when asked about concerns Kinect isn't aimed at the hardcore, "which we think will use the aspects of Kinect a lot more originally and in a more sophisticated way."
Hayes didn't reveal much of anything about what Sega's Kinect game is actually about, but the company leader said gamers should give developers more time to take advantage of Kinect.
Sega will be launching Sonic Free Riders for Kinect via Xbox Live Arcade later this year.

If Kinect is open up to xna I would like to develop some indie games for it. I have some ideas as well, and I would like to start with by making an RTS for it. For now I could make an engine for the computer and if XNA does get Kinect support port it over to the 360 with kinect controls.

another reason I think kinect will fail. The only promise of a game that 360 owners have grown accustomed to might come out in a couple years. And on top of that it's being made by a developer that has gotten very little right in recent years. I mean at least the move has Socom. I feel like this is Ngage all over again. Something cool that's being hyped up, but at the wrong time and to the wrong people

Not really much to say. A developer revealed that they're making a Kinect game within the next few years and, they say it will be cool. Ok. Good luck, I'll be back in a few years to see what the hell they were talking about.
