If you want to beat the download rush when PC and Mac RTS Starcraft 2 comes out later this month, you can download the sure-to-be-a-huge-hit game from battle.net right now. You won't be able to play it until the official digital release at 10 PST on July 27, though. But you will be secure in the knowledge that your copy of Starcraft 2 is acquired, just sitting there, staring at you, tempting you, waiting. You can even defer paying for the game until after the 27.
Here's the link. Give it a shot and prepare yourself for space-battle-time.
...Unless you prefer cardboard boxes and waiting in line at a game store. Personally, I hate boxes. I lose them, or accidentally light them on fire. They take up shelf space and are a hindrance to my otherwise unencumbered lifestyle. But perhaps you feel differently. The advantage to buying the box is a few extra hours play time, but, on the other hand, if you download you won't be fumbling around with installation discs and whatnot. So, your call. Which are you gonna go with? Box or Download?

LoL! You're a funny man, Mr. Stephen Johnson.
My friend & I pre-ordered the Collector's Edition online from Gamestop.
Gamestop had a deal that time too, that if you bought two copies, you get it for less than the in-store retail cost. So my friend & I split the cost between us; my friend gets one & I get one, both for a cheaper price.
And since the pre-order comes with BETA ACCESS, we've been able to play StarCraft 2 for a WHILE now. LoL We didn't have to wait at all. And we can just keep playing Beta 'til our copies of SC2 arrive. LoL
Hard Copy > Digital Copy
[Though receiving both, one as a back-up for the other, would be completely awesome.]

Already traded in some console games for a good discount at Gamestop.

Gamestop in-store pickup online pre-order. Why you ask? I pay the day I get it (midnight release ftw), and I got beta access, so I'm going to play when I get home ;)

Bought the CE from Gamestop, already in the mail! :D

I don't trust much over the internet... When I am able to buy good ol' disc for me! The only hindrance for me is my computer is sub-par lol...

Wasnt the digital release going to be delayed a few days for to entice brick and mortar buying?

Nitpick thing totally... but the series' notation is StarCraft (capital c), not Starcraft.

What do you mean, "a few extra hours play time?" You just kind of slipped that in there...

Dont even bother pre - downloading stuff from steam. I have yet to get the game unlocked at midnight like it should. Sometimes you even have to download it again to get it to work. All the cool kids will be getting it from the store and watching day[9]'s launch party.
