After the recent drama that went down with the exit of Edward Norton from the Marvel Movie Universe as the Hulk, one would not expect to hear any news so soon about their plans for the green brute with anger management issues. However, according to a report from Deadline, Marvel may already have someone lined-up to take Norton's place. Enter Mark Ruffalo (The Kids Are All Right, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Collateral.) No details have emerged about how this came to be, but the actor is reportedly in late-stage talks to snag the role, which could mean that either Marvel worked this out in record speed, or that the dismissal of Edward Norton was something they knew was on the horizon for quite a while.
Either way, it seems that The Avengers could indeed be moving forward with its Bruce Banner/Hulk character quicker than Death to Smoochy's life at the box-office. The fact that they even saw need to go to such lengths to cast the Bruce Banner character, may further indicate that the Hulk's involvement will be critical as possibly both the film's (unwitting) villain and eventual inductee into the Avengers team.
What do you think of Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk? Or are you still scratching your head about exactly who this guy is?
