Quantic Dream Working On Two New Projects

This Week's New Releases: Heavy Rain

It seemed like most of Quantic Dream's resources were poured into producing Heavy Rain, and while it would have been natural to assume they're singularly hard at work on something new, there's much better news to report: Quantic Dream told The Examiner it's working on two games.

"We currently work on two very different projects," said Heavy Rain director David Cage during the interview. "After the success of Heavy Rain, we continue to explore how we can go further with interactive drama, working on emotion and interactive storytelling for a mature audience, but with a very different story and a different approach. I think that people who enjoyed Heavy Rain will be surprised by what we prepare. Quantic Dream also explores how to use what we learned about emotion on Heavy Rain in very different types of experiences."

Pre-E3 rumors pegged Cage as working on a science fiction adventure called Horizon. However, there was no mention of the Horizon project or anything Cage is currently developing during E3.

I am not going to support this company anymore. After screwing the customers with HEY DLC and all of a sudden OH SORRY no DLC for you, I am out. A company that breaks a promise to its customers doesnt deserve your business.

    I AM OUT

Hopefully this time around, we can see some of this "interactive drama" on Xbox 360. If not, I'll just pick up Alan Wake and be busy playing other games for it matter too much.

Sweet, i know they said they where very happy it sold better then they thought it would so with that in mind i am pretty sure these next two would more then likely stay ps3 exclusives. Cant wait! maybe one of them is something new as in not the same style of play they have done, I would like to see these guys try at an RPG.

    Awesome.
We need more games like Heavy Rain.

Hopefully Kojima will leave those idiots at Konami and make a spiritual successor to Snatcher/POLICENAUTS with Quantic Dream. [/dream]

Heavy rain was one of those hit or miss games. You either thought hey this game is amazing or hey I hate this game and its controls. I personally LOVED IT! So I hope they make the next game with the same concepts in mind just slightly improved. Also just food for thought I almost would put money on it that by the end of next year sony buys them out. After all they did it with Media Molecule. So just watch, bet you it happens.

here's hoping their new projects aren't as poorly done as the way-too-pretty-for-the-story vomit that was heavy rain. seriously, i don't mind watching the same predictable crap as a movie, but i don't want to spend more than 2 hours doing it. they seem to be brilliant artists, so i wish them good fortune and hope for a better story.

I don't know of any previous projects they worked on, but after Heavy Rain, which was one of my favorite games of the year, I can't wait to see what is in store for Quantic Dream!

I also wish they'd continue developing more DLC for Heavy Rain, as I really enjoy playing through the first chronicle

Light Drizzle? Who knows? Whatever it is, I'll buy it. Heavy Rain was great.

Yes !! I loved Heavy Rain & I wish we got some more DLC for it. I know they stopped working on DLC to work on the Move capabilities but come on give us something.

Heavy Rain's Story was terrible! He has black outs for no reason, and it is never explained. Also, the characters are so un-lifelike, especially while controlling them. I love Heavy Rain as an idea and as a movement, but I really hope they improve on their previous product. (Note: I have all systems, so no bias.)

If they make a shooter that would be great. Although I would expect nothing less than something with the depth of Half-Life.

Wow! Heavy Rain was great, I hope they're just like it. Or at least in story.
