If you were reading TheFeed yesterday, you already know that Xbox Live's Destination Arcade's release has been pushed back by a week. The sleek, simple way to stay up-to-date on Xbox Live Arcade titles will launch on July 21 to coincide with the start of Microsoft's Summer of Arcade promotion.
That's the relatively good news. The bad news, according to Xbox Live's Major Nelson:
"The Destination Arcade app will only be available for the duration of the Summer of Arcade promotion which ends August 18th."
So what gives? Will we only be able to use Destination Arcade for a scant four weeks? Depends. Shack News clarified the situation with Nelson, who explained that, as long as you download the app during its availability window, it will continue to work as long as you'd like it to. So make sure to download it while you can.
Here's the lineup for the Summer of Arcade:
- Limbo -- July 21
- Hydro Thunder Hurricane – July 28
- Castlevania: Harmony of Despair – August 4
- Monday Night Combat – August 11
- Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light – August 18
Each game will cost 1200 Microsoft Points, but if you collect 'em all, you’ll receive 1200 MSP in return; buy three, and you’ll get back 400 MSP.
