Have you ever taken an ant farm and shook it up really hard, just to see what would happen? I'll tell you what happens: the ants go nuts, and then they escape and bite the crap out of you. While the millions of World of Warcraft subscribers aren't exactly insects, Blizzard is doing this with their flagship game when the eagerly awaited Cataclysm expansion is released.
So what sorts of changes are awaiting you? We spoke to project director Tom Chilton, production director J. Allen Brack, and content designer Cory Stockton to find out for you, and you can find out what they are teasing in the videos below. There goes the neighborhood.

I am deeply discouraged by the dumbing down of the game... stats are being drawn back into the basic stats, dungeons are easier that the release, gear drops like its raining candy. This is not the same warcraft on release and its not really doing justice for the gamers.
I do give the positive however. The art and game mechanics are improved and they have in (a few) ways to give more content to the users.
When will they release something to hit past this expansion? Will there be the emerald dream? Return of the lich king? Gotta start workin on some lore now, we are running out of bosses to kill!!!

It's becoming more and more apparent over time that the devs play their own games as casuals who don't appreciate putting in a great amount of effort to earn something.

Looks like alot of fun but this still isn't worth 15$ per month.

Haen't played WOW or a year or two now. Having flying mounts make questing and just getting from one place to another soo much easier. Being on a PVP server though I think it takes a lot of fun out of world PVP. A shame since world PVP was one of the most fun aspects of the game to me and is pretty rare.

I like the direction that Blizzard is going with cataclysm, adding flying in mounts all over azeroth is what should be expected . When I frist got wow a while back I thought that you could fly anywhere but ....sadly I couldent. Also adding in two new races and a huge face lift in the areas surrounding players is much needed. This might be alot of players including myself back to playing wow.

We wen't back and re-did the zones, and this is our best work....
Yea, but why would I ever go to those zones? I don't go there now, why would I go there when they look different but otherwise offer the same thing (nothing)?
And they still think dailies are good or interesting or long lasting content. Who gives a?

It's an idea that works in practice as well. I can attest that the questlines are smoother, more polished, and less "all over the place" as far as both storyline and progression go. There's less "travel to the other side of this large zone for one item" quests, and the game just progresses smoother. As an altaholic, this is very enjoyable for me :)

hmmm im a purist and that auto questing scares me....but at the same time arouses me. mehh ill be playing SC2 or the remained of the next 10 years untill the 3rd one comes out... i <3 blizz

I do like how they went back and evolved the world...but it's still the same game I've played before from what I've seen and heard. The game really needs an overall Overhaul on the game. From gameplay mechanics, story and graphics.

I am interested in the new races 1-60 but a fly by of the old areas is what I am excited about. This looks very promising
