Ubisoft might be taking their time with the third installment in their Assassin’s Creed franchise, but the publisher has revealed that it does have some very definite ideas about what’s next for series.
As Ubisoft associate producer Jean-Francois Boivin recently told Gamerzines, Assassin’s Creed 3 will feature a new hero and a new setting, as has been the case with the previous two iterations in the series. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood of course continues and concludes the story of Assassin’s Creed II star Ezio Auditore, and will by Ubisoft's own admission be the last AC game for at least two years.
Where would you like to see the next Assassin’s Creed to be set?

It'll most likely be in the states. due to the whole training Desmond goes through in the second game. If it does happen to be a three series game then it'll almost have to be. It may go to other countries though. Or perhaps "the farm" mentioned in the first game. The place where the assassins are located. I guess it'd be cool for it to be in france or japan, but i think it'll mainly be in the states. It'll probably be modern times... I'm not fond of the idea, but who knows, maybe it'll be in colonial america, perhaps to train Desmond with guns. I know for sure that of this is a three part game series it'll be modern times. If not, then it's possible for colonial America. There would still be a lot of hand to hand combat, and also guns.

altairs son cuz then his son would be using the pistol and wear altair's armor. Also cuz then he would move to monterigioni and be Mario's great grandfather

ac3 should be altair's son

How about the events of World War 1? The assassination of archduke Franz Ferdinand could be the work of the Templars. Desmond's ancestor could be trying to end the war. and you could also use this time to continue the leadership role of the assassin order. Send out assassins to alter the events of battles and track the Templars to their base. This game's ending could lead to the formation of "Abstergo" and Templar presence in America as the remnants flee from the assassin order. This time period would allow for the continuation of fan favorites like the dual hidden blades because enemies won't be running around with machine guns. It can also alter player tactics from fighting groups of enemies with swords to picking them off one by one to avoid being shot.

This might sound kinda dumb, but honestly i think it would be amazing if AC3 fallowed the story of one of Ezio's assassins from AC:B!

czar russia or 44 bc

all these other ones are way off base.
it makes most sense for it to be about subject 16 and you would explore cities like machu pichu and possibly parts of africa or some islands. This would be a new twist in locales and would actually make sense with the storyline because you would be unlocking secrets of the past that come far before ezios time

AC would be cool in WWII era france. our new assassin buddy could run around killing nazis and stuff! definitely like the leap of faith off of eiffel tower idea...

I really like the idea of Japan in the 1800s, but unlike many of the people who posted before me, I think the Ninjas should be a separate element from the Assassins. Possibly have them competing against each other to complete contract kills.

I would love to see Colonial America during the American Revolution. I know Ubisoft tries to select moments in time that are not very common in video games, and I can't name one game where you run around colonial America in 1776. The time between Altair and Ezio is *roughly* the same amount of time between Ezio and the American Revolution. Plus, horses were still in use, so that translates well. Guns are introduced in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, and the same tedious-to-reload guns were used during the time of the 13 Colonies. Speaking of 13 colonies, that gives you a perfect idea for locations. 3 cities could be Boston, New York, and Philadelphia. And being the American Revolution, you could easily have a selection of people to assassinate as well as having someone such as Benjamin Franklin or Thomas Jefferson take the place of Leonardo Da Vinci creating new weapons and devices for our new hero to use. Seriously, I'd be thrilled with an Assassin's Creed during the American Revolution.

It will be set in Japan, if youve played the truth *spoiler warning*, you can see Adem and
Eve climbing futuristic housing and buildings in Japan with mount. Fuji in the background, So my guess is Japan. But I think USA is cool, or when Desmond is in the Animus (3.0 ofcourse :P) it will be JAPAN and when he is out of it, it ofcourse will be in the USA, the last battle against the templar knights :P

i think the city where desmond should kill people is in the city of shambala. but right now this is my least concern. i would rather see how amazing the graphics would look for the third one. u would think after making two ok graphics, they would at least try to wow us the third time.
but it would be pretty cool to see desmond jump off the twin towers and kill someone.

I Think that any ancient time would be great, but a also think that adding a variety of gunpowder into the equation would be a huge mistake.

i think that an assassin in the wild west would be amazing or during the cold war like russian templars or something any way i just think the ac series should get away from any thing before the 1800's (Confederate templars + slave assassin = AWESOME STORY (allthough desmonds not black))

I think that, if they are gunna need to keep the hidden blades and not go TOO far into the future. it might be in Russia, because they were so behind in history and everything. i think when Peter the Great was around. During modernization.

I personally think the next one should be in the states playing as Desmonds grandfather post WWII, with settings in Chicago, Miami, Boston, New York and Washington D.C.
but thats just me

I'd like to see the new assassin play a role in the down fall of the Soviet Union during the cold war.

i think what is going to happen is that they are going to have 2 different story lines. one with Desmond and the other with an ancestor. Japan would be awesome, but i wouldn't mind seeing 1920s new york city either.

London and Parris. Maybe around the french revolution 1789-1799 or Victorian era era 1837-1901. Also I like the idea of a female main character. This would pace the stroy line well because it would have been another 300-400 years from the AC2 just like AC was 300-400 years from the AC2. Also I know manny people would love the fact that they could do a leap a faith on big ben and/or the effel tower. This would also set up the conclusion nicly with desmen if they decide to make a 4th one. I don't think it would work well in world war 1 or 2 though beacuse of all of the guns and I would miss the hidden blade.

I'd like to see it in either 1940's but not as a war hero but as a Jewish holocaust prisoner and you have to assassinate Nazi head campers or in Germany when the Romans were invading germany and the grand master of the temple was Julius Caesar
