Ubisoft might be taking their time with the third installment in their Assassin’s Creed franchise, but the publisher has revealed that it does have some very definite ideas about what’s next for series.
As Ubisoft associate producer Jean-Francois Boivin recently told Gamerzines, Assassin’s Creed 3 will feature a new hero and a new setting, as has been the case with the previous two iterations in the series. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood of course continues and concludes the story of Assassin’s Creed II star Ezio Auditore, and will by Ubisoft's own admission be the last AC game for at least two years.
Where would you like to see the next Assassin’s Creed to be set?

In the latest issue of Xbox World 360, Ubisoft producer Sebastien Puel talked about the possibility of a female assassin lead in the next Assassin's Creed game.
All Puel can confirm is that they've "had discussions" on the topic, and there's no hard evidence the next AC game will star a lady hero. The team is, however, leaning toward that option, specifically during World War II when many nations were run by women.
It could be really interesting but we'd need to find the right time period and place for that.
Where would that make sense? We don't want to just decide we want to change and have a female hero as the first inspiration is always the time period, but if you're talking about, say, World War II the economies in England and France were run by women because the men were off fighting.
So maybe in this context you were a woman in England during WWII. Why not? Nothing prevents us from doing it
Interestingly enough, creative director Patrice Fortier also noted that the Assassin's Creed franchise can "just expand and expand," though Ubisoft originally planned for a trilogy.

sorry I read arctile saying that it going to be a female hero base in war world 2. These straight from Ubisoft mouth

I think that Spain would be cool but I also think that Japan would be an awesome twist. You know where like the Assassin's Brotherhood moves to Japan as like a safe spot and sort of adapts some of the samurai customs and enhance the way of the assassins.

I reckon it'll be in Victorian England... it'd fit in with the modern characters being English, and it'd be great for free-running as well, as evidenced by Sherlock Holmes ;)

I think the best direction for AC3 would have to be in the new world America. But then again you would have to travel to all the temples around the world including Maya temples, Egyptian temples, Aztec, Inca. Wouldn't it be great if you could go to all these places
tyepriest182
what if to find all of the temples, desmond goes into the memorys of many ancestors like, each memory sequince could be somewhere else and as a different assasin like one could be an assasin in japan and then another in egypt and then in england ect ect.. and of coarse getting to run around as desmond and actually do some assasinations as him too

Either central america, fighting spainish conquistors, montzuma is your best friend, cortes is the big bad guy, spaish exploration was actelly used as a way for the templars to find the missing peices of eden in asia and in the "unknown contient"
or revoltionary war, son of the leader of the american assisans, ansecstor of ezio auditore, king george was a templar pawn, cornwallis was the templar master, patriots are all assisans, founding fathers were assisans too, assisans started the U.S. to get away from templars, travel between boston, new york, richmond(virgina) and pittsbergh to fight the templars off your new land!
boyuvdarkness
american revolution. it's obvious, since a bunch of the subject 16 stuff was about america. also, random guards patrolling the streets that you can randomly kill? red coats. a bunch of keys you can collect for really good armor? some sacred indian thing. it wouldn't be hard at all.

JAPAN WOULD NOT BE A COOL SETTING. Too many ninja games out, we need something fresh and exhilarating like the previous games. Who knew the Middle East and Renaissance Italy would be KICK-ASS?!

Anywhere in the world but Japan. PLEASE.

well in the credits you hear desmond yelling no, so it sounds like they are putting him back in the animas. Lucy, I dont think she is dead(something about she has to be found), anyway why cant subject 16 be altiar, and he may even finish his training, then turn hi loose in the present day to find all the templars, but to make the story right he needs to wear the old style assassins outfit

If Assassin's Creed 3 is going to be the last game might as well make it count. I really dont agree with the idea of a egypt or paris since they are basically covered in the previous games including Brotherhood. There should be forests and mountains, I guess ancient Asia could work, or the time around the Lewis and Clark Expedition, you know, somthing that looks different in an awsome way.
My second idea is instead of having the game in one time period, there should be one character that you play as that jumps through different times and places, helping out or destroying kings, generals, and/or empires. As long as the setting doesnt come near France or Israel I'll be happy.

I think that it should take place in China, because I'm pretty sure that Altair's son went to China, so you would be able to control Altair's son who owns all of the cool things that Altair thought up.

Rome or Egypt would be wonderful!
Although I love ancient China and Japan, there are plenty of games dealing with that out there. I have seen very few games dealing wtih ancient Egypt.

I strongly disagree with Japan as a good setting for the next AC game. Now imperial China different story. How cool would it be to run around the forbidden city or monk temples high in the moutains. But China or Japan don't match the story very well. If i had to guess i would say AC3 will be evenly split between past and future. The past taking place in France or Spain and the future in N.Y.city or washington DC and almost certinly roselin chapel in Scottland. And with the info presented in brotherhood i would bet the farm on the next hero being female. Now as far as places i would like to run around and play in i would say ancient Egypt,Greece,Rome(ancient or post bernini)and imperial China. But i think in order to visit these places in time they need to end the story of our future hero(desmond)in AC3 and start anew maybe with desmonds seed (as eluded to in the truth in AC brotherhood).

I think the next setting should take place in Russia, France, Germany, Greece or United Kingdom

Well we've been to Asia and we've been to Europe. What about somewhere in like South America? Say, Brazil? Maybe during the period where Portugal has imperial Control over Brazil? It would make sense because people are just coming from Europe over to South America so you could maybe start out in Portugal and, near the beginning or middle of the game, catch a boat to Brazil. Or maybe be a Brazilian Assassin and the Portuguese could be the Templars. Just throwing around ideas, but the other ones are great too. I just wanna see a different continent. Maybe Africa? A BLACK ASSASSIN!
Starkiller1240
may be Desmond since subject 16 mentions something about "your son"
but i would like japan = Samurai and ninjas, but Egypt (secret locations in the pyramids), England (castles) would be nice, and i would like a female character but unlikely since they all seem to be guys except the one in the sanctuary for the past assassin's in AC

Don't care where, as long as it's not WW2 era.
linc77
please dont be stupid and make it modern... why does everybody want guns? yeah WWII would be great running through a field being chased by a tank. running up a building would help you then right?
